When Facebook began to struggle after going public this past May, they launched a desperate crusade for revenue that has ultimately placed the burden on users by severely limiting your ability to reach your friends unless you pay a premium.

DCCC Collects Signatures With “I Stand With #OccupyWallStreet” Petition While Obama Says Bankers Have Done Nothing Wrong

By: Monday October 10, 2011 10:43 am

There have been some pretty shameless attempts on the part of Democratic operatives to co-opt the energy surrounding #OccupyWallStreet, but perhaps none more ribald than this email sent out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee collecting petition signatures pretending to support them.

We’ve watched long enough. Our tax dollars have propped up Egypt’s murderous regime for 30 years. It’s time for that to end.

I’ll be driving down to Quantico tomorrow with Bradley’s friend David House, who will deliver the petition to the brig.

Stop the BP Bailout: 50,000 Petition Signatures by Next Week

By: Wednesday June 16, 2010 3:58 pm

While the President reiterated that $20 billion isn’t a cap, it’s important to know how much more BP could and should pay. One analyst said it could be as much as $63 billion; I suspect and hope it will be in the hundreds of billions. That’s why it’s important we make clear BP should be responsible for every dime of damage from its disaster. Anything less is a taxpayer funded bailout of BP. Can you add your name and help us reach 50,000 signatures before we deliver our petition to the Senate next week?

The Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster is getting worse by the hour. At the Seminal, diarist Seymour Friendly writes that the collapsed well is leaking oil at the pace of 200,000 gallons a day. If Obama moves forward with expanded offshore drilling, this disaster will only be the beginning. Sign our petition to President Obama asking he end his plans for offshore drilling.

David Sirota, Kelly Canfield and 40-50 others delivered a petition with 35,000 signatures on it, asking Michael Bennet to keep his promise and introduce an amendment for an up-or-down vote on the public option in the Senate. Hey Colorado: Help Deliver Public Option Petitions to Michael Bennet Tomorrow

By: Tuesday March 23, 2010 7:42 pm

Michael Bennet was all about the public option when it didn’t matter.  Now that the health care bill has passed and the President has signed it, there’s no way that introducing an amendment can stop it from going through — so why is Bennet nowhere to be found? Thirty four thousand people have signed the [...]

10 Reasons to Kill the Senate Bill

By: Monday December 21, 2009 7:10 am

FDL has become the go-to place for coverage of the health care bill due to the work of our incredible team. Jon Walker’s second-to-none knowledge of the health care bill has made the policy and political analysis he offers up at  FDL Action a driving force. Dave Dayen’s reporting at the FDL News Desk, Marcy [...]
