Amazing what a difference a month makes. Andrew Sullivan, at long last, pulled his head out of the sand and did the absolute bare minimum of research about Obama’s marijuana policy before writing about it. Just last month Sullivan praised Obama for somehow helping to advance the cause of marijuana legalization despite the fact that [...]

If Religious Freedom Is Paramount, Let’s Talk About Sacramental Marijuana |
| By: Jon Walker Wednesday February 8, 2012 12:52 pm |
Now that a proposed government regulation would require most employer-provided health insurance to cover birth control, the Republican party has strongly rallied around the idea that what insurance covers is a part of “religious freedom” that must be protected from government attack. This new rule so strongly bothered Mitt Romney, the front runner for the [...]
Obama Has Proven to Be an Adamant Opponent of Marijuana Reform |
| By: Jon Walker Tuesday January 17, 2012 10:27 am |
Andrew Sullivan is still trying to defend his absurd claim that Obama somehow deserves credit for growing support for marijuana legalization. In fact, though, while the decades long trend towards greater support for marijuana legalization hasn’t stopped since Obama took office, it has continued despite the Obama Administration’s overt opposition. From Sullivan’s response: Oh please. [...]
Andrew Sullivan Believes Obama Even Deserves Credit for Things Obama Opposes |
| By: Jon Walker Monday January 16, 2012 1:02 pm |
Andrew Sullivan attempts to mount a defense of President Obama’s record from the standpoint of achieving liberal objectives. But on some key items, he gets the President’s record and positions wrong, even backwards. Sullivan starts by declaring that Obama’s critics from both the left and right are unhinged from reality. He then goes on [...]
A President Alone Can End the Federal Drug War |
| By: Jon Walker Tuesday January 3, 2012 2:23 pm |
If an individual was elected president and was determined to radically scale back the federal drug war, she or he could. This is not some crazy theory; it is a simple fact based on the actual design of our drug laws. Dramatically curtailing the federal drug war can be done as an action of the [...]
Jon Walker: What Obama Could Do Now |
| By: Jon Walker Tuesday October 19, 2010 10:34 am |
Jobs creation is the top concern for Americans right now, and it is near criminal that we don’t have more members on the board of the Federal Reserve who are committed to fulfilling their mandate to increase employment. Ending the waste would be a massive step towards reduce our deficit. Drug re-importation, ending DADT and medical marijuana are supported by overwhelming majorities of Americans. The list above is not only smart policy, but also represent smart political moves that Obama is fully capable of taking.

This morning, Just Say Now is proud to announce a new tool to put marijuana reform directly in the hands of activists: online phone banking to identify supporters of marijuana reform before November’s election.
There are thousands of voters in Arizona, California, Oregon, and South Dakota who we need to vote for marijuana reforms. We’re targeting calls to young voters and “surge voters” – people who turned out in 2008 but who are not yet likely to vote in the midterm elections.
Soros, Lewis and Other Big Donors Abandon Democrats For Progressives and Weed |
| By: Jane Hamsher Thursday September 30, 2010 9:29 am |
Privately, the closed wallets of Democratic billionaires like George Soros and Peter Lewis is all that the poobahs of the DC fundraising world have been talking about for weeks. But now it’s hit the New York Times: Many wealthy Democratic patrons, who in the past have played major roles financing outside groups to help elect [...]
Announcing the New Just Say Now Store – Already Banned by Facebook |
| By: Michael Whitney Wednesday September 22, 2010 1:31 pm |
We’re pleased to announce the brand-new online store from Just Say Now. Featured in our store are hemp t-shirts, hemp tote bags, stickers, pins, t-shirts – just about everything you need to show your support for legalizing marijuana and support our organizing to pass marijuana ballot initiatives in November. Even though we complied with Facebook’s censorship of pot leafs, all of our ads for the Just Say Now store were rejected. And the rejection came with some blatantly false statements, and a harsh warning.
