There have been some pretty shameless attempts on the part of Democratic operatives to co-opt the energy surrounding #OccupyWallStreet, but perhaps none more ribald than this email sent out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee collecting petition signatures pretending to support them.

Well, that didn’t take long. The same day that Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid announced that they “would support any provision that increases competition and accessibility for health insurance – whether or not it is the public option favored by most Democrats” the chief lobbyist for UnitedHealth, Steve Elmendorf, sent an email blast inviting people to a $5,000/PAC or $2400/individual fundraiser in his home for Nancy Pelosi.

Ruh-roh.You will probably see more stories on the RNC’s footing the campaign bill. Also, expect this race to be even nastier now as the RNC, state parties and 527s with no disclosure will have to step in to take up the slack for Team McCain. Two words: Plausible deniability.
