We took delivery on our first shipment of heavyweight duck blanket lined jackets, made by UFCW local 1541 workers and modeled by Jon Walker in the photo. The boxes piled high behind him give an indication of what the rest of my house looks like at the moment.
There’s an FDL membership liaison webinar meeting this Wednesday at 8pm, so if you joined the FDL Membership Program and want to be a liaison in your community, you’ll be getting an email invitation soon. If you’d like to join the Membership Program and become a liaison to your local occupation, you can join here.
Many thanks to all our liaisons who have been doing an absolutely amazing job. Jackets and base layer underwear are on their way!

If you’ve already joined the FDL Membership Program and you’d like to be part of the liaison team in your community responsible for delivering goods to your local occupation, there’s a webinar training tonight at 8pm. We’ll also hear from liaisons about what has happened in their occupation this week. If you’re a member you can sign up here. If you haven’t joined the membership program and you’re interested in being a liaison, you can join here. Many cities (especially the smaller ones) don’t have any liaisons yet, so if you’re looking for a way to help your local occupation, it’s a great way to be of service.

The media cheered the astro-turf Tea Party protests as genuine populist expressions of justifiable outrage, whereas Kevin Gosztola has been almost alone in giving fair coverage to the Wall Street protesters.
If you value the work he has been doing, please consider donating to help us not only continue to pay his salary, but to bring him to Washington DC to join the Occupy Wall Street and October2011.org protesters in Freedom Plaza on October 6.

This is an extremely important moment not only in the fight to preserve the social safety net, but for the future of the country. Nancy and Eric are both critical figures in this fight, and have bravely led it in the face of incredible opposition, at tremendous personal sacrifice. I cannot say enough good things about them, their courage and their moral integrity.
If you’re an FDL member, you should have received an email invitation to the webinar. If you didn’t, contact Ryan Cook at (202) 506-3907 and he will make sure you get one.
