We had hundreds of people calling their representatives yesterday to ask if they would sign the letter to President Obama, telling him to issue an executive order preventing federal contractors from discriminating against employees based on sexual orientation and gender identity. LGBT activists lobbying on the Hill report that the DNC is actively discouraging the [...]

Paul Krugman is a Nobel prize winning New York Times columnist who consistently sits at the top of every poll of “most influential liberals.”
What exactly does OFA think they stand to gain by ridiculing Krugman as a “political rookie,” a hysterical “fanatic” and an “idealogue”? Do they think they hold so much sway with liberals that they can discredit Krugman and thus neutralize his criticism?
That smacks more of narcissism and megalomania than any sound political “strategy.”

I have, and always have had, tremendous respect for Cenk Uygur. His contract with his audience is that he will never put himself in a position where he cannot say what he really thinks. And in turning down MSNBC’s offer to host a weekend show so he could give his audience a fair appraisal of what happened, he honors that contract.

Democrats in Congress were prepared to absorb defeats last night. But there were some surprise losers who shared the honors with them: 1. Sarah Palin An enormous GOP wave swept across the country, and it should have delivered the Senate to the Republicans. Sarah Palin interjected herself into primary races in Delaware and Nevada, however, [...]

I’m glad the DNC decided to clear something up for me. You might sometimes mistakenly think the Democratic Party is not about endless wars with no clear goals or defined victory. Well, this news release from the DNC about Michael Steele’s statement that history proves an outside army can’t pacify Afghanistan should completely dissuade you [...]

It looks like the DNC spent nearly half-a-million dollars to praise Ben Nelson for ruining health care reform. According to Joe Sudbay at Americablog: Last month, Ben Nelson did a TV ad defending his vote on health care. He talks straight to the camera and disses those “who wanted a government takeover.” That sounds like [...]

AmericaBlog: Joe wrote last night about how the DNC’s “Organizing for America” organization (formerly known as “Obama for America”) emailed Maine voters yesterday about today’s election, but failed to mention the anti-gay ballot measure that is the number one issue in the state right now. Today things got worse. We just received a copy of [...]

Are you a creative, risk-tolerant soul with a flair for the :60 spot and a yearning to crash the gates? Do the words “gone viral” get you going faster than a fist full of Adderal and a sixpack of Jolt? Do you laugh at the thought of waking up to a horse’s head in your bed labeled “C.O.D from Rahm”?

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) made some very encouraging activist noises while being interviewed by Rachel Maddow this evening. She said that she too is impatient, but said she’ll go to the big LGBT DNC gala next week in order to convey the urgency of passing her Domestic Partners bill for Federal employees, as well as repealing DOMA.
Getting bills to the President’s desk for him to sign is the most important step for the Congress.
