As Expect WH Promises to Veto CR with Obamacare Defunding

By: Thursday September 19, 2013 8:15 am

Now that Speaker John Boehner has given in to conservative Republicans demand to include Obamacare funding in their continuing resolution, the White House has officially issued a veto threat. From the OMB: The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.J. Res. 59, making continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2014 and for other purposes, because it [...]

GOP Could Actually Win the Funding Fight if They Dropped their Obamacare Delusion

By: Wednesday September 18, 2013 7:48 am

Republicans have gotten themselves into a real bind over funding the government. By: Thursday February 17, 2011 1:00 pm

They have quite proudly managed to put together a continuing resolution that will cut $61 billion from existing programs. No doubt these Republicans will be held up as “serious people” who are willing to [...]

By: Tuesday February 15, 2011 12:45 pm

Despite jobs being by far the top issue with voters, the Republicans in Congress, in their rush for immediate austerity, have committed themselves to making the unemployment crisis worse. Among the many cuts in the House Republican’s continuing resolution are cuts to “excess spending in Labor Department job training programs” and eliminating funds for AmeriCorps. [...]
