Biden’s the Best Seller as Campaign Becomes Unbearably Cute
Posted in: Uncategorized
Every campaign produces its share of kitsch and collectibles, and don’t I wish I had begged my parents for a Spiro Agnew watch as a kid. So it was inevitable that the Vermont Teddy Bear Company would create stuffed bears representing the candidates.
Here’s a weird surprise; the Joe Biden bear "dressed to promote the vote for change in his business suit with Obama/Biden ‘08 campaign button" is so popular his bear is currently sold out online and can only be ordered over the phone. Then there’s the the other VP candidate:
With hockey stick in hand, our specially designed Palin Bear is ready to put her country first and fight for reform, prosperity, and peace, wearing a power red suit, glasses, tiara, and a Palin/McCain ‘08 campaign button (yes, her name is on top). She also carries a briefcase with lipstick and baby bottle stashed inside
which may become the Pet Rock of the post-electoral season.
And if you think promoting a butter cream colored bear that celebrates an anti-environmentalist is just wrong, the company sells a line of endangered species bears with $5 form each purchase going to the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
