The damage to Obama’s image caused by the botched rollout is not going away quickly.

President Obama started to see a real drop in his job approval rating when it become clear the problems with the federal exchanges were more extensive than first thought. Since those early problematic months, his administration has managed to mostly repair the website but that has not repaired his standing with the American people.

Obama job approval rating has basically leveled off in sharply negative territory. According to a new Quinnipaic poll he is at 40 percent approve to 54 percent disapprove. This is basically unchanged since early this month when it was 41-53, and only slightly better the low hit last month of 38-57. It isn’t the only poll to show a real drop starting around October with basically no real improvement in the last month.

It would appear the damage to Obama’s image caused by the botched rollout is not going away quickly. Even though the site is working better it left people questioning Obama’s basic competence as an administrator, regardless of how you feel about this policies. The administration managed to screw up Obama’s signature plan, that is not something people forget.

The Quinnipiac poll found only 42 percent think the Obama administration is competent at running the government. This number is unchanged since November.
