The latest Gallup poll has some relatively good news for the Obama administration. The months of problems with Healthcare.gov hasn’t noticeably changed the number of uninsured who plan on eventually trying get coverage. Roughly two thirds of the uninsured still plan on trying to get insurance, basically unchanged since the beginning of October. From Gallup:
If the administration can get the exchanges fully working and correct the big back end problems in time, the early technical issues probably won’t end up have a huge impact on overall enrolment via the federal exchange for next year.
Of course planning on buying insurance and getting insurance are two different things. The small subsidies combined with how absurdly overpriced insurance is in the United States could still leave insurance financially out of reach for some.
