I admit it, I clicked and watched the Wall Street-funded New American Foundation video featuring rich kid Alan Simpson doing his Gangman Style parody dance.
Simpson seems to think he’s inspiring a new austerity generation when he once again invokes intergenerational warfare, telling the young ‘uns to “Get in there before all the old coots clean out the Treasury and leave you with nothing.”
Apparently he doesn’t understand that the dance is a parody of poseur rich kids like himself who have nothing better to do than act outrageously and call attention to themselves.
The fifth stage of having an international video megahit must be deep shame when stuff like this comes crawling out of the woodwork.

That video makes me queasy. Simpson is an old, foul-mouthed, woman-hating jerk. Why in the world does he still have any influence in DC? Obama should be ashamed.
Dog I love this guy, never worked a day in his life were he wasn’t getting paid by the taxpayers he wants to screw over.

OK this is funny and all that, but to get serious for a second, why is Villaraigosa joining in this dance and planting wet kisses on his shriveled white ass?
In case you missed the connection. Alan Simpson IS Montgomery Burns (of the Simpsons TV show) if he were to win an election.
Pols–so styleless, so soulless, so lacking in substance. How do they get off on each other? Why do they wank to this?
At some point, like Wall Street, I just say we tell them to kiss our collective arse. The just don’t contribute a GD thing.
EDIT: Okay, just watched the video. Now I can add: please don’t die, Mr. Simpson. I’d be happy enough if you just sorta seized up and landed in a nursing home. Miserable Dickensian wretch.
Actually, Jane, the dance is about poseurs (middle class or otherwise) who want to be seen as being a member of an elite class, in this case Gangnam. Since the Republican base admires wealth so much and desires to be a part of the upper crust, the dance is making fun of them, or in other words, the dance makes fun of those who continually vote against their own interests. Simpson, with a wink and a nudge to his rich cronies, is giving a big FU to his base.
(No, I don’t honestly think that Simpson knows what he is doing … about anything.)
It’s just plain disheartening that evil jerks like him still are presented as serious sources of wisdom. And so it goes.
Alan Simpson’s parents should rise from the dead and drink battery acid for what they’ve wrought.

Remember when Obama said on national television in the midst of the healthcare ‘debate’ that abortion isn’t a healthcare issue? I wonder what exactly Obama would feel ashamed about with regards to his rather close association with Simpson/Bowles.
Simpson seems more like a mentor than source of shame.
