The list of nearly 250 nominated occupy actions across the country inspired us, and I know it inspired others. We got lots of feedback like the one from our Pittsburgh liaison, who said ”everyone is noticing, marveling at, and being inspired by other cities’ actions.”
We hope the well-document list of nominated actions continue to serve as proof that Occupy is far from dead.
These 20 occupations now proceed to the finals. Voting will close at midnight on Saturday February 4, and the winners will be announced on Monday February 6:

Hoping Occupy Austin is in the top 5. The one tent that they are allowed at City Hall was destroyed in storms last week.
I admit to having a soft spot for Buffalo after the events of last evening.
I should add that it was the Media/Welcome tent.
/sympathy vote trolling…
Keep getting message that verification code is incorrect although I’m coping it directly from the e-mail I received. ????Never mind. Now have new e-mail
Wow. This is a really, really difficult decision…only 1 can be chosen, but they all deserve the prize. I need time to think…
Oocupy Buffalo, in the third poorest city in the nation, could use a little notoriety right now with Mayor Byron Brown cracking down on the group. Considering all the fine work OB is doing for the people of the city, the mayor should be ashamed of himself.
if you click the link in the email you dont have to enter any number. the number is only if you don’t click the link and have the survey window still open to the part where it asks you for your email address. you only need to do one or the other -sorry for confusion
and if you – or anyone – has any problems you can shoot me an email at brian@firedoglake.com and we’ll figure it out and make sure your vote gets counted.
No problem. Thought I was supposed to use the number from the other day. THanks
Yes, we would most appreciate your vote for Austin. We could sure use one of them designer tents to replace the InfoTent the storm destroyed.
And I’ve got to say I am jumping up and down excited that we are one of the finalists!
oh – no, this is a new survey, ie new confirmation number. sorry again for the confusion!
Do you have contacts on the U of Texas campus? Students have a way of making things go viral on their campus network. I know what I’m talking about.
What a joke. Taking up space is all this posturing is good for.
“it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
signifying nothing.
Is that from Dostoevsky?
If folks from Berkeley and Austin are paying attention, there is no reason those two shouldn’t be top vote-getters.
I was at Occupy DC McPherson square yesterday at 1:00pm on a beautiful winter afternoon of about 65 degrees (gotta love global warming sometimes) and I saw alot of tents there. I didnt, however, see very many people, at most 12 scattered in different groups. I was a little disapointed.
Naw, it’s his mangling of Willie the Shake. Silly boy, shooter: Faulkner — whose jockstrap shooter’s unworthy to touch — did it so much better.
But then, shooter’s just pissed off that FDL and Occupy are doing well. Consider his comment the equivalent of a dog chasing its own tail in frustration.
Wut?!?!?!? You say there are 20 groups on the list, but I’m only counting 19. Did I run out of fingers or is my abacus defective? And Occupy Oakland didn’t make the cut? Interesting.
Occupy Nola (being a bunch of violent, illiterate inbreds) came in dead last, now there’s a shocker!
