I’ll be broadcasting live at 3pm EDT as part of the #OccupyWallStreet movement moves its encampment to Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village – a few miles away from the original site at Zuccoti Park. There will be an inaugural assembly followed by an acoustic set by punk legends Anti-Flag.

About FDL Action
Thanks Brian!
Thanks so much for being there Brian. Very exciting.
*waving back to friend David*
It’s becoming a joke…well, maybe not for those living near the demonstrators or those with small businesses in the area. Terrible for those innocent people.
A picture says it ALL …
“Terrible for those innocent people.” — Those words should probably be reserved for actual atrocities. Otherwise, if you save them, they will have no meaning. At all.
Of course. They should either spin their own clothes using fibers of their own manufacture, or go naked. Otherwise, they can’t be serious. (end snark)
There’s nothing more exhilarating than watching pure democracy in action.
The fresh air is nice, isn’t it? Smells like freedom.
AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Sonnenstein:
Great coverage, you get a Norske Medal of Citizenship…thank you.
Mrs. Norske and I went to Occupy Minnesota at the People’s Plaza in Minnepolis yesterday and I am very excited to see how this movement will develop out of the specific culture and experience of Minnesota. The folks I saw on the podium represented the “usual suspects” only in so far as they and the politics they represent have always been in the middle of populist or street politics in Minnesota goin back to the 30′s union movement and Governor Floyd B. Olson. But what is really invigorating is that the speakers and crowd organizers were not grey-breaded “Gus Hall” pamphlet carriers (there was one) but youngsters (students and non-students) who have a visceral understanding of and respect for democracy. Indeed, a representative of SDS – yeah folks, THAT SDS – was the most inspiring speaker to these old cauliflowered, Scandinavian ears.
It appears that each of the “Occupy” happenings is continually developing, day-to-day, not just growing in numbers but creating, identifying and advancing issues and tactics out of the shared experience of those present. I am looking forward to watching and participating in and learning from the Minnesota movement as we over here across the St. Croix River advance on Scott Walker and Madison.
Thans again Brother Brian and …
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE STRUGGLE IS NOT A CHOICE!!
a diary Brother Norske, post a diary
Upwind might smell OK, but downwind is – “Stinking up Wall Street: Protesters accused of living in filth as shocking pictures show one demonstrator defecating on a POLICE CAR”
I think that young man will be ousted from the park.
No excuse for that.
now we know what our provocateur looks like.
Just got back from Occupy St. Louis still going strong. It might take some time to build but I think it will. I will have more video and pics tomorrow. Were the 99%.
There is so much corruption and abuse of power out there it is hard to know where any of this ends or whether it does at all. There seems to be no way to fix it, no political party is able to and no person able to lead us out of it. All we have is corruption and demagogurey. A lot of good people down there around WS but they can’t fix it either. It is truly depressing.
My bold:
Um, it’s Manhattan. Also, if that photo wasn’t a set up for the article (it doesn’t escape my notice that the lower portion of the page is emblazoned with “GlamEntertainment”), how many homeless and ambulatory mentally ill have you helped off the streets in the last 35 years?
