David House spoke with Dylan Ratigan this afternoon about his visits this weekend with Bradley Manning at Quantico Marine Base.
As Jane wrote this morning, it was clear to David that Bradley’s spirits were down as a result of his solitary confinement, but Bradley was excited to discuss the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt. David also revealed on MSNBC that while he meets with Bradley, there are three Marines standing behind Bradley who make their presence known. That’s in addition to electronic surveillance of the room, and presumably of every word spoken between Bradley and David.

About FDL Action
Very impressive appearance by Bradley Manning’s friend. I know this has to be difficult for him, but he does a remarkable job on television and improves every time he appears. This must be taking its toll, and yet it is obvious Bradley Manning has a true friend in David House.
Agreed.
David House, like Julian Assange, demonstrates a self-possessed, informed, and humane point of view in his interviews, which is impressive, especially for his age, and a real tonic to watch. And as you say, the intense visits with Manning must take an emotional toll on House, especially in the immediate aftermath.
Thank you, Dylan Ratigan, for asking House to appear.
It makes me wonder if Manning’s been threatened if he discusses what’s happening with him.
I also wonder how his lawyer gets to speak with him in private.
Ditto and thank you, Michael, for this report. David House’s impressive comportment is a real inspiration!
Guessing every kind of pressure has been used against Manning and that every word with his lawyer has been recorded.
I’m glad Manning has a friend. It’s criminal what the federal government is doing to him and galling that’s it’s being done ostensibly in our names.
I thought that once everything became public the military would stop – I thought Obama would order it stopped.
I was wrong.
My heart goes out to this fellow – if he is guilty of something charge him.
This like the red scare 40′s and 50′s where the FBI could do whatever it wanted, with judges trying show how tough they were.
Whether it’s Obama in office or somebody else, the military’s response to negative publicity is always to double down at first. Always.
Otherwise it wouldn’t be the military. Beatings will continue until morale improves.
Besides, O ordering any abuse to stop. You musta been asleep in the Kaatskills for the past 2 years.
I read somewhere earlier that the board of Court Martials would not be seated until February. Today after David spoke on Dylan’s show he had another guy that stated the trial date for Manning is in May. So, in May the boy will have spent one full year in solitary confinement.
In the meantime, nothing is being said about Lamo. Lamo is walking around and seeing daylight!
Obama declined to pursue the war crimes of Bush/Cheney, which by any justice standard would have resulted in prosecution. Likewise the enabler attorneys at DOJ.
Obama has increased and extended extra-judicial killings including U.S. citizens. He has also condoned the detention, torture and virtual exile of American citizens of color and Muslim beliefs.
Now he targets a soldier and citizen, violating military law in pre-trial punishment. This country has fallen, far, far, far, from its promise, constitution and laws.
At once frightening, shameful and extremely disturbing.
Isn’t it ironic that Bradley Manning languishes in solitary confinement, punished without having been charged in all these months, in conditions that approximate torture, and yet individuals who really did kill and torture continue to live freely, including the criminal Bush?
I hope he remains strong and well, and I wish him the best.
Loony Lamo is not so loony. He’s figured out which side his bread is buttered so he’ll be larking it up forever.
U.S. is a police state. That’s how things ‘work’ here.
OBAMA is not that into Democrats read below
Neocons meeting with Obama at the White House today over Egypt
Obama invites Elliott Abrams to the White House: between Jeffrety Feltman and Abrams, US Middle East strategy is in tatters
“INVITED TO THE WHITE HOUSE TODAY, per Laura Rozen: Michele Dunn of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the Brookings Institution’s Robert Kagan. They co-chair a bipartisan working group on Egypt. Also coming are others from their group, including Elliott Abrams, President’s Bush’s deputy national security adviser for the Mideast, and George Washington University Middle East expert Marc Lynch.”
http://angryarab.blogspot.com/2011/01/obam...
Elliot Abrams? Robert Kagan from Brookings that’s now affiliated with the American Enterprise Institute? Well, hell, just invite Dubya too.
And that folks is all anyone needs to know about US support for the Egyptian people. Can’t let that $68 billion for 30 years go to waste now.
Bradley Manning has no friends in the OBAMA WH, progressives are hated by the OBAMA WH.
You know, I don’t think he is looney either. I think he gave all the stories he did to keep people from figuring out that he was hacking government sites or working for the government in some fashion.
I spent days looking over Marcy’s timeline and reading everything and every link. No, he is not looney. He is hiding something big.
Manning has been charged. He is detained pending trial, but UCMJ has specific prohibition against pre-trial punishment. See 810. ART. 10. RESTRAINT OF PERSONS CHARGED WITH OFFENSES
All this B.S. about suicide watch and enhanced detention is just that. It is about power. When the laws aren’t enforced, and the enforcers are corrupt, where are we?
I admire your diligence. I spent no time on the stuff that you studied. I only scanned. But that was sufficient to plant a gigantic seed of distrust about Lamo. Nothing about the official story of him hangs together. My guess is that he is a Pentagon or CIA tool, and a pretty transparent one, but what do I know.
I caught this around 5:30 today. Warning! It’s a WaPoo article
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/31/AR2011013103871.html
Obama has sent ex-ambassdor to Egypt.
Oh fine: invite the f**ks who got us into this mess, and ask them advice???
Dear Mr. President, you were elected to lead. Please do so and stop wetting a finger and hoisting it every 15 min. to judge the meteorologic conditions.
Do you think that O could be more ‘transparent’ than inviting neocons to WH?
Then you and I think exactly alike in regards to him. That is why I am questioning why there has been no real court testimony from Lamo.
Hmm. 86-91. Who was prez then? O becomes more & more obvious.
Poppy Bush and RayGun.
Why would rule of law & court testimony play any role when innuendo serves better?
Yeah. Obama doesn’t dare make a move without permission from ex Republican administration officials.
duh.
Scuse me! Poppy Bush.
I have argued for some time–going off like a broken car alarm–that the American people now live in a corporatist police state. People don’t seem to notice, as they diddle their handheld devices and wonder about Justin Beiber’s haircut. But…it’s here.
Say, does anyone think March 19th holds real possibilities? I intend to go to the demonstration to get my share of abuse.
the OBAMA WH is becoming a complete Joke
No one in DC, and everyone outside of DC, knows Obama has no chance of winning in 2012.
Bradley Manning is an American HERO!
Obama is an AMERICAN ZERO
Kissinger is probably there too. They just aren’t calling his name. That war criminal is giving his advice while we speak. I hope the Egyptian people don’t fall for anything that is forced or offered without thinking it through completely.
Gotcher. Lived in Manhattan long enuf to know how useless car alarms are.
O will win by overwhelming majority in 2012 owing to complete buffoons on R.
You are correct, he has been charged. I knew that, but got carried away…believing in a speedy trial and that sort of thing. Shall be more careful. Thanks.
Yep. We will be forced to choose between O and some highly smelly republican in 2012. Otherwise, we can stay home or do a write in.
You were right the first time. Reagan was in office from January 20, 1981 – January 20, 1989. After that Mr. CIA took over.
No votes for Vichy Dems. I hope the Greens run somebody worth electing, otherwise I’m writing in my own name.
:-D I’ll vote fer ya!
Woohoo! That’s 2!
I would crawl over molten glass before I would vote for a Republican. But I would never, ever vote for Obama again. I figure the Dem’s best argument will be the tired old ‘he’s the better of two evils.’ Well, as someone wayyy smarter than myself said, that’s still a vote for evil.
Thanks for the update re Manning and the interview of House on Ratigan.
Yes, we live in a corporate police state, but most citizens are too easily distracted/satisfied to actually sit up and take notice. IF they even know anything about Manning, they just *assume* that Manning’s at fault and *deserves* what’s happening to him bc the “military is “fair” or some other bilious nonsense.
I have no doubt that the Great Pretender has been on the blower with Henry the K for many days now… one can always smell the stench of that war criminal when the sh*t hits the fan, esp these days in the ME. Barry Zero’s a Neo-Con Republican, after all. Who else would he consult, but yet again *many trad Dems* are blissfully asleep at the wheel mis-believing that Barry Zero works for them. And believe me, they get plenty pissed off when you tell them otherwise.
My take: get ready for 4 more years of the Great Pretender in 2012. He’s really gotten a significant portion of Dems fooled, and who really gives a sh*t about the Tea Baggerz??? Barry serves his purpose with them as well: ginning them all with outrage at his blackness, so they’re very well distracted from issues of real substance.
And so: on it goes…
IMO eCAHN is correct. Obama will win in ’12 for a variety of reasons, none of them having to do with his “accomplishments.”
I’ll vote for you! Or hey, maybe Jane if she decides to run!
Most trad Dem voters are still very very very happy and satisfied with the Great Pretender, and they will line up in droves to vote for him.
I will either vote for a third party or write in something.
That said, if the PTB want Barry Zero to “act” in the office of POTUS, then it shall be so….
Let’s start a write-in campaign for Jane for POTUS & Margaret for VP!!! Now that’s real change I can believe in!
Allison Hantschel is upstairs!

Pvt. Manning and David House are American heroes in the tradition of Captain Hugh Thompson, Jr..
Great post, Michael. Thank you.
My sincere thanks to all who are helping turn this situation around.
The facade of America as a country where the Rule of Law is upheld has fallen away. The reptilians (who think they are) still in control are desperately clinging to their mind controlling, soul destroying behaviors. Their facade has fallen, their matrix falling away. Obummer’s pretty words are not fooling us anymore. Reptilians do what they do. Their agenda is simple—total control. But they are losing it. We all need to take a page from the brave Egyptian people and become the change we want. Nothing is simply given. We have to fight for it. When we empower ourselves, others have to fight us for it. If we do not give up our self empowerment the reptilians run scared. They have no compassion, no heart chakra. They operate out of the first and second chakra and employ fear as their main MO. So, do not fear. Resist but keep your heart open. You are the hope. You are the change. Manning and Assange are an inspiration to us all. Let us not make their sacrifices be in vain. We must be vigilant and insist the Rule of Law be upheld. We have the truth on our side.
