There is no longer a Democratic party in the United States Senate. All the senators who were formally members of the Democratic party have switched to the Liebocratic Party. The Democratic party is dedicated to the passing of Democratic legislation. They would not have tolerated, supported, and empowered one man who is completely dedicated to ruining their top legislative goals and their stopping their re-elections.
A Democratic party would have stripped Joe Lieberman of his chairmanship after he actively stumped for the Republican Party’s presidential nominee. A Democratic party would have removed Lieberman from the caucus the second he started holding the top Democratic priorities hostage with procedural maneuvering. A Democratic party would use reconciliation, the nuclear option, or any other means they could to circumvent any obstacle that got in their way of providing the American people with real health care reform. That is why there is no member of the Democratic Party left in the Senate.
There is only the Liebocratic party. It is a party that exist solely for the advancement, appeasement, and support of Joe Lieberman. Its goal is to make sure Lieberman has complete veto power over any piece of legislation in the Congress. Until any former member of the Democratic party stands up to Lieberman and refuses to let him control the Senate, they are Liebocrats and not a Democrats.
Enthusiasm among the Democratic base is already very low. It will be tough for any Democrats to convince the base to turn out in large numbers to vote in 2010. I know that task will be impossible for any Liebocrat.

How else could one explain rewarding Lieberman’s obstruction of healthcare with a gavel overseeing…healthcare!
There are no words to fully and accurately describe that hypocricy.
I could think of some, but I’d probably get moderated.
There are no polite words to fully and accurately describe that hypocricy.
The missing link is the fact that they’ve been propping up Lieberman all these months so that when he tried to stop them with his detestable whining, he’d make a great face for their excuse for using reconciliation. Now even someone like Carper will probably sign on to reconciliation and say “Shit, we gotta do what we gotta do with Lieberman trying to stop us.” Whereas had we kicked out Lieberman right after the election – which would have made me happy – it would have given an excuse to the Carpers and Bayhs etc. to get scared about their influence and form a strong Centrist block that would have fucked us over at every turn.
Harry Reid does not need Lieberman as an excuse to do reconciliation. Harry Reid should have done reconciliation when Baucus puffed his chest about scrapping the PO. IMO Harry Reid has proven that he wants the least progressive bill humanly possible and therefore will continue to concede to whatever demands Lieberman, Landrieu, Lincoln and Nelson concoct.
Classic “Liebocratic”
How one man can yield so much power. How one slime ball can keep the American people who are unisured from getting what they need boggles the mind.
This guy has to suffer some consequences for his serious abuse of power

Podesta: Democrats Will Pass Health Bill With or Without Lieberman
John Podesta, the former White House chief of staff who ran President Obama’s transition and still advises the administration on health care and other issues, today expressed confidence that a health care bill will pass despite the news that Sen. Joe Lieberman will filibuster any legislation with a public health insurance option or a Medicare buy-in for 55 year-olds.

PD toolbar!”My guess is that musty folders on reconciliation got dusted off this morning,” Podesta told reporters at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor. The reference was to a budget procedure that requires only 51 votes to pass and can’t be filibustered.
Why the hand wringing and rhetorical questions.
We all know the real reason Lieberman is still chairman of THAT particular committee… and why he is immune to prosecution or punishment.
We may not speak of it in polite company – however.
Until ordinary Americans rattle the chains that have bound us since WWII – we are doomed.
This enemy within takes very good care of its own – against the rest of us.
Where oh where have we heard this before in history.
Do NOT complain about Lieberman being immune – unless you are prepared to answer your own question honestly.
And John Podesta is a poor choice to explain… he’s one as well.
Still more veiled references with no back up data.
