Politico is reporting that Harry Reid plans to publicly unveil the merged Senate health care reform bill tomorrow afternoon (Correction: the bill will be unveiled tonight). After months of waiting, and endless delays, we will finally see the health care reform bill that will be brought to the Senate floor. (Dayen has some details about provisions expected to be in the bill.)

The bill should be online for 72 hours before there is a vote on the motion to proceed. That means the vote is unlikely to come until Sunday (Saturday evening) at the earliest. A vote on Monday is probably most likely. This will be Reid’s first test to see if he can hold his entire caucus together. Conservative Democrat Ben Nelson seems to indicate that Reid will at least have the votes needed to proceed to debate. Of course, allowing a bill to be debated on the Senate floor is a long way from allowing the final up-or-down vote needed to pass the bill out of the Senate.
