So right.Look who showed up to speak to the Dems in the Senate yesterday about HCR.
The same guy who now runs around getting fat donations for his foundation from the super wealth & Corporations.Yes, the same guy who in the 90's had no problem sending American manufacturing jobs overseas & who continued his predecessor's caress with Corporations, not even fighting to keep Glass-Steagall act in place to protect Americans.

And he was invited to speak to Senate Dems by Harry Reid & Rahm Emanuel. So now, do you really expect anything worthwhile to come from the Senate ?

I have always said Harry Reid's stance on HCR is bogus. It's a way to make folks think he his doing his mighty best to get a robust PO.

And by the way ,he is up for re-election in 2010 in Nevada. The gullible will think Harry really fought for the PO but just didn't have the votes but if you re-elect him he will fix it.Same script Obama used in the GE,elect Obama Prez and he will fix FISA.

If Reid is so into a Robust PO then why does Lieberman still command chairmanship of a committee.Lieberman says publicly he can't support such a bill.

Once again we are being set up for the inevitable,Pie in our face. The only drama now it seems to me is how quickly will the so called "progressives" in the Senate get run over.

Read the NYTimes about Maine's "health reform", its a mess and every issue occurs due to a compromise or capitulation to Anthem/BC/BS (though the article never comes right out and says it). All these bills make the same mistakes at a national level.

I love it when conservadems negotiate with themselves by offering ever-worse compromises with each other... and in the end, their pointless self-negotiation doesn't convince a single rethug, or even trolls spawned under Connecticut bridges.

this is as dead as triggers. no way it gets 60 votes in the senate, or even 200 in the house. the opt-out public option will get passed in reconciliation.

In honor of Veteran's Day. According to a study released by the Harvard Medical School, 2,266 veterans under the age of 65 died last year as a result of not having health insurance. Researchers emphasize that "that figure is more than 14 times the number of deaths (155) suffered by U.S. troops in Afghanistan in 2008, and more than twice as many as have died (911 as of Oct. 31) since the war began in 2001."It's time for American Women to Stand-up/Speak-up for your full medical rights. Stop the rabid right-wing from restricting American womens medical choices. Call Congress and demand the "stupak-pitts amendment" be stripped from Health Care Reform. Also, demand that liebermann be stripped of his chairmanship of HSC and kicked out of the Caucus.Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score's the baucus plan at $829 Billion over a 10 year period, that is paid for. The CBO also states that it will lower the deficit by $80 Billion and it would be much lower if there was a public option.Criminally corrupt politicians are the reason the U.S. is ranked near the bottom of every catagory when ranked next to other modern, industrialized nations. Time for publically funded elections. lieberman $12.6M, mcconnell $7.8M, baucus $7.7M, cornyn $6.7M, kyl $5.6M, grassley $5.4M, ensign $5.2M, conrad $5.1M, cantor $4.9M, nelson $4.9M, burr $4.8M, boehner $4.4M, hatch $4.4M, lincoln $4.1M, vitter $3.9M, carper $3.6M were paid by the Medical Industrial Complex to kill Health Care Reform.
