Rep. Bart Stupak’s amendment to health care reform will effectively prohibit insurance companies from covering most women’s abortions.
If Planned Parenthood and NARAL are just going to lie down and let access to reproductive health legislation to be written by Catholic bishops, I guess they think that’s in the best interest of the women who donate to their respective organizations.
But I wonder if Bart Stupak’s donors want to be associated with his anti-choice activism? Many PACS that donated to Stupak this year have a pretty heavy investment in consumer branding that appeals to women. Check out the list below.
Let us know what they say in the box to the left when you call. Thanks again for your help.

Hmmmmm. I wonder how many of those who believe insurance shouldn’t cover abortion also believe insurance should cover viagra?
If House Dems really believe the Bill they’re about to vote on will keep them in the majority in ‘10 they’re in for a surprise.
I don’t understand how the Catholic Church can tell non-Catholics what to do with their bodies. A church should only have authority over those who choose to be members. It has no business telling people who have nothing to do with it how to live their lives. We don’t ban the consumption of pork because there are Muslims and Jews in this country. I’m no biblical scholar, but when did Jesus say that his followers had to outlaw all perceived sins?
A Democrat is proposing an amendment that makes women second class citizens. Fuck these Democrats. It’s time for a real progressive party that sees all citizens equal before the law.
Americans could give a rat’s ass about low income women.
How can you not understand that these “Catholics” Tax money will be used to fund abortion if this passes. How can someone make a law requiring someone to pay for something that’s against their Religion? The Government shouldn’t have anything to do with abortion.
And my taxes go to pay for obscene wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and I find that abhorrent. So what’s your point?
We ALL pay taxes that go for things we do not agree with. It’s part of the collective nature of the United States. Why should the anti-abortion/anti-women people have any special considerations than any of the rest of us?
Will FDL support or oppose the so-called HCR bill?
How? The same way any believers of alternative systems of belief know their tax money isn’t spent on pork and shell fish inspections…
