Won't happen. The people left in the New Orleans area are all for Ms. Landrieu. Just enough dems (read Blacks) have not come back home after Katrina to tip the vote in favor of idiots like her. 148,000 New Orleanians are still not back.

Landrieu's ambivalence? That's too kind and generous a description for someone working almost as hard as Blanche Lincoln (D-Walmart) to defeat it.

For a senator coming from a state with perhaps the most crying need for health care reform in America, Landrieu is, in effect, abandoning her constituents, which amounts to an invitation to them to abandon her at the polls.

Achilles and the tortoise
“	In a race, the quickest runner can never overtake the slowest, since the pursuer must first reach the point whence the pursued started, so that the slower must always hold a lead.	”
—Aristotle, Physics VI:9, 239b15
In the paradox of Achilles and the Tortoise, Achilles is in a footrace with the tortoise. Achilles allows the tortoise a head start of 100 metres. If we suppose that each racer starts running at some constant speed (one very fast and one very slow), then after some finite time, Achilles will have run 100 metres, bringing him to the tortoise's starting point. During this time, the tortoise has run a much shorter distance, say, 10 metres. It will then take Achilles some further time to run that distance, by which time the tortoise will have advanced farther; and then more time still to reach this third point, while the tortoise moves ahead. Thus, whenever Achilles reaches somewhere the tortoise has been, he still has farther to go. Therefore, because there are an infinite number of points Achilles must reach where the tortoise has already been, he can never overtake

Well she is between the GOP and Us on issues. However think of a teeter totter with 6 kids on one side and the GOP and Blue Dogs as one kid with two personalities on the other end. As far as Popular opinion is concerned Landrieu is a GOPer.
After all we already compromised I wanted and still want the same Healthcare France or Japan has. Why because they live longer than us. I still want to pay what Canada and Mexico pays for drugs why because they pay less money for drugs than we do.
We have already moved more than halfway on this issue towards them. But they think we should move halfway again towards them.

Florida has a GOP Governor right, they had Jeb as Go before that so is it a purple state? Cause the Florida Dems are right now showing plenty of Spine. One would expect Moderates to be especially appealing in the Purple States.
But Landrieu got publicly dissed and in politics especially Moderate Politics it takes extreme action to provoke that kind of response.
Of course I approve of this action I am just very very surprised:)
