Yesterday, Jane followed up on her televised dare to Blanche Lincoln to filibuster the public option, when she warned that if Blanche filibustered, “she’d draw a primary challenger so fast it’d make your head spin.” Jane wrote here:
But there are other things that can make a race attractive to a primary challenger — or, conversely, make Lincoln think twice about joining a Republican filibuster. Like hiring organizers in Arkansas to start knocking on doors and set up phone banks into Arkansas, and compiling the names of voters in the state who would support a primary challenge against her.
We need $30,000 to put this into action. It may well be the most effective $30,000 we spend on health care this year. Or EFCA, for that matter.
We’re already halfway there – in just 24 hours, the FDL community has raised more than $15,000 from more than 400 people. Can you help push us over the top? Click here to donate now to fund organizers in Arkansas.
In an email to FDL Action activists yesterday, Jane wrote about how your donation will help:
Your contribution will fund our ground game in Arkansas, but will also allow us to organize online phone banks and place calls to likely Democratic voters in the state. Identifying voters would would support a primary challenge will have tremendous value for any Democratic candidate who wants to run against Blanche Lincoln.
With these organizing tools, we can make an impact in Arkansas. We can lay the tracks for a primary challenge to Blanche Lincoln. But we need your help to get going – and it’ll take $30,000 to do so.
Please donate to our efforts on the ground in Arkansas – help us reach $30,000. Contribute now.

About FDL Action
Gave what little I could. It is an important fight and warning to the others.
Good riddance to bad rubbish
In new Republican version of Bible it now reads ‘the need for money is the root of all evil’. Now the love for money proves one a ‘real Merkin’.
OK, but what can we do to “encourage” Joe Lieberman to become a Democrat?
What can we do to encourage Obama to be a Democrat?
AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Hamsher and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
OK so now that I’m $25 lighter in our vacation fund (Mrs. Norske is gunna send you some serious flames) I want to know what the status is of amendments to the House bill announced this AM. Shouldn’t FDL action be gatherin’ resources to give to freshmen and sophomore congress people to get ‘em out from under Rahm’s boot? I know that pressurin’ Blanche Lincoln is not real risky and advances progressive netroots visablity but I ain’t sure that the money wouldn’t be better spent in gettin Medicare Plus Part “E” amended into the House bill on the floor.
Please tell me that my $25 is not necessary to push the Medicare PLus amendment. I know I been beatin’ the drum for the importance of the House bill but I’m afraid that’s where it’s at in terms of the politics of this thing especially long term to get Rahm back in his kennel.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE BASTARDS AIN’T DEAD YET!!
There likely won’t be amendments permitted on the House floor, since Bart Stupak’s anti-choice amendment could pass.
I’m in, too. Not for much, but in this economy it’s all I can do. I love ActBlue…!
Citizen fuckno:
Back in the box with that shit.
When you want money to launch a primary challenge against Barack Obama, give me a call. That man is a snake oil salesman.
There is more than one reason to bring this woman down. For me the main reason is that she chairs the Senate Ag Committee and is in a position to do serious damage to efforts to recapture our energy and food independence. These areas will be critical in rebuilding our economy and our ability to take care of ourselves. Check out her donor list…big ag, big energy, big banking.
Make these points to your friends outside of Arkansas. This is a national issue. Get them to help remove this pawn.
