I want Harry Reid defeated also. Along with about 90% of the politicians who voted themselves a Cadillac health plan, who arrogantly thumb their noses at Americans, who are convinced we’re a bunch of idiots that can be herded around like mindless sheep, and who insult us on a regular basis.

Insulting comments like the ones Reid made at a recent energy conference in Las Vegas. He called people who opposed the Democrat Health Plan, (who the hell knows what that is anyway, even the liberal press, let alone Democratic representative, who passed a 1307 page Health Care Bill less than 24 hours after they received copies of the bill) and I quote “evil mongers”. He also the evil mongers are using “lies, innuendo and rumor to drown out rational debate.)

Of course, Reid’s comments rank right up there with Pelosi’s, who called people who dissent with Obamacare, and I quote “Nazi’s”

I could go on but I think there’s no more room in this little box for the truth to be written.

I hate this sort of ‘Blue Jane’ sentences, because it’s not Rahm’s but Obama’s back room deals!

Harry Reid is just doing what the president wants him to, being “bipartisan” (kissing Olympia Snowe’s butt) and offending no one but progressives, who the president thinks he gets to take for granted. Progressives need to send a message instead of getting punked, pouting a bit, and then rolling over. A bad bill will be bad for Democrats, across the board.

The discussion on the "nuclear option" between selise and I is here. I also followed up that post with other diaries calling for using the "nuclear option" here, here, http://seminal.firedoglake.com/diary/9408 and here. I've had enough of the filibuster and believe we would open up our whole political situation if we could get rid of it. I don't think any good Democrat or progressive ought to support it.

You may be right about Snowe and Collins and how they will move But about:

“Thanks to FDL and others I believe that NO Senate Dem will dare vote against health care reform in whatever form it takes.”

I’m not so sure. I think there are at least a few in the caucus who will vote no on a bill without a PO, and perhaps even one or two who will vote no on a bill that has a very poor PO. the, of course, there’s Bernie Sanders who will have a very rough time voting for a “reform” bill without a PO.
