Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado led the effort to show that a majority in the Senate supports the public option. Was it all for show? Did Michael Bennet only champion the public option when he thought it didn't matter?
If Bennet introduces the public option during next week's debate, according to its own rules the Senate has to hold a vote. This is our only chance for a vote on the public option.

President Obama's plan for direct student lending saves $8.7 billion by cutting unnecessary fees paid to Wall Street banks.
But if the Senate tries to pass a health care 'fix' through reconciliation without passing direct lending at the same time, there won't be another opportunity for an entire year.
Sign our petition to the Senate to save our students and pass direct student lending.

The Baucus plan “still leaves about 25 million people uninsured when fully phased in, in 2019. Of those, nearly 17 million would be U.S. citizens or legal residents” (link)
25 – 17 = 8 million uninsured who are NOT citizens or legal residents. Estimates of the number of illegals in the country start at 12 million and go up from there. Am I wrong in thinking this means a minimum of 4 million illegals will be covered (12 – 8 = 4)?
