I know my inbox is full of emails blaming the Republicans for killing the public option on the Senate Finance Committee. They’re hilarious.
That’s right, the GOP did it!
Leave yours in the comments. Maybe we’ll have a drinking game to see how fast each one starts pimping triggers.
It seems to have escaped their notice that Democrats did the exact same thing they’re blaming the Republicans for. Just enough of them, in fact, to make sure the public option failed.
Funny how that always works, isn’t it?

About FDL Action
Let’s appoint Tom DeLay as Senate Majority leader.
Because “majority of the majority” sounds pretty good right now.
This ship called the USA is sinking.
Democrats are at the helm, but not in control.
Funny. But not funny-ha-ha
i think it is about time for a mass exodus from the democratic party.
I say we hold the “bluedogs” accountable at election time.
In the meantime, I blame the Republicans!
What I like about Jane’s approach – pledging the progressive caucus to vote “no” if no PO, campaigning against blue dogs, etc – is that I think it says to the party leadership that we represent people who are Democrats but who put principle before party, and we’re not going to just fall in line. Ultimately that could mean leaving the party if necessary – but there are a bunch of steps leading up to that, and you keep sidelining us and compromising our principles and we’ll move in that direction, and we really mean it, no empty threats here.
Dem Excuse Generator:
Tom Carper: I have a doctor’s note !
Kent Conrad: You know, the French never have to explain themselves
Bill Nelson: Have you seen my Space Pen ?
Blanche Lincoln: I just washed my hair
Max Baucus: It was like that when I got here
You’re goddam right I blame the Republicans. Especially those Republicans with a D after their name!
i agree conrad says he cant vote for a bill with ties to medicare fixed rates so he doesent vote for jay rocks bill and then comes schumers bill without the fixed rates things he said he couldent vote for and he still votes no! kent your in beck teritory man?
some say if you cant beat’em join’em , im sayin NEVER!
“We don’t have the votes because I won’t vote for it”
So there.
I needed to visit my physician today, although I generally try to avoid this as much as possible. Although I had an appointment I waited for 50 minutes, and then was given a choice to reschedule, or see an Urgent Care Physician’s Assistant. As I was in a great deal of pain I chose the latter. Obviously the long wait is already occurring now, and there is neither single payer nor a public option interfering at this moment. What struck me was that during the time I waited a number of people were directed to the Emergency Room for minor illnesses, due to the fact that one lady, who was visiting out of state belonged to an HMO, which urgent care could not accept. Another was a small child with a cut on his toe, once again his insurance would only be accepted by the ER. What struck me most was the despair and helplessness on the faces of the staff and the patients. I blame the Republicans, I blame the Democrats, I blame Obama, I blame the citizens of our country, who have allowed themselves to be divided and manipulated. Most of all I blame the corporations, who have orchestrated the whole disaster. I had a deep feeling that I was seeing the beginning of the end for our country and for the ideals set forth by our founders. Ironically I also received a letter from a company today, offering fantastic deals on cremation, and disposing of my earthly remains in a manner that would be good for the environment, for my family, and, needless to say a heck of a deal economically speaking. I generally attempt to avoid conspiracy theories, but presently I am not sure whether we might not be dealing with some terribly misguided fundamentalist Christians, who are tiring of praying for Jesus’ return, and have decided to help along the apocalypse to the greatest of their ability. The rapture is waiting, and they are longing to hook up with the mothership, so to speak. Sorry to be such a whiny crybaby, but it’s beginning to look like we can’t get there from here.
That is the wake up call these”SPINELESS”people need, and will be getting.
What is it with Baucus, Nelson, Conrad and the Rethugs. We know Insurance CHACCHHING. The uninsured just do not matter to them. Keeping their coffers full does
I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!
WE HAVE TO STAY FOCOUSED , NOT JUST ON OUR OWN NEEDS BUT ON THE NEEDS OF THOSE IN THE FUTURE , LETSD FACE IT WE DONT ALWAYS GET TO SEE THE BENIFITS OF OUR LABOR
