Primed by faux spews and rush limbaugh along with glen beck and the rest of the crazies the sheeple will do their damndest to stop what would help them the most. The truth will never reach them, after all, they already know the truth, and that truth is whatever they are first told to believe, endlessly reinforced via sound bites and endless repetition of the basic meme by all rethugs marching in lockstep

Did anyone bring a gun to the meeting? I’m guessing no. Does anyone bring a gun to Republican meetings? Again, I’m guessing no.

And therein lies a tale. If the gun-toters are doing it on principle, then they’d carry them all the time.

If they carry them only to Democratic meetings, then another principle, one they say they are not doing, is at work.

Rep. Michelle the Wacko did say, rather ironically, “Follow the money.” Oops, Michelle, you should consider from whence you are coming.

According to opensecrets.org, the Health Sector gave both houses of Congress:

> In the 2004 cycle, $52 million to the GOP and $35 million to the Dems

> In the 2006 cycle, $45 million to the GOP and $29 million to the Dems

> In the 2008 cycle, $54 million to the GOP and $72 million to the Dems

Now, how much of that money went to Blue Dogs during those cycles, especially 2008, I don’t know? There are some indicators for this year, according to http://www.opensecrets.org/new.....to-wo.html

Health and accident insurers, HMOs and health services increased their contributions to Blue Dogs by at least 15 percent between the first and second quarter of this year (from $106,200 to $122,650), but by 3 percent to non-Blue Dog House Democrats. Blue Dogs’ stance on health care reform is more in line with that of health insurers and pharmaceutical companies — they oppose a public health plan unless “insurance market reforms and increased competition don’t lower costs on their own,” according to Politico.

So far, based on the total individual contributions that CRP has coded, 7 percent of all donations to the candidate committees and leadership PACs of Blue Dogs this cycle have come from employees and political action committees of the health sector. And health professionals are the second largest donating industry to members of the coalition this cycle, giving $688,250.

Hey guys,
This has got to be satire, right. I mean this weird looking dude ranting about not giving up his social security and medicare for socialism is a hired actor, isn’t he? Wait a minute, who took away my keys to the locked psychiatric unit. Last thing I knew I was a staff member, not a patient. Did they change the locks? Come on, let me out, this isn’t funny any more. If this goes on much longer I may have to beg the Germans to restore my citizenship, which I so proudly renounced 36 years ago to become a proud American citizen. I mean I have lived here 42 years now, I have children, and grandchildren. Actually I think the Germans would deny me asylum (is that insane asylum?) I think they’re still ticked off at me for giving up my allegiance to the country where I was born, without any reservations no less. That is part of becoming an American citizen after all.
No, I see it clearly now. This is all a bad dream, and I’m going to wake up any minute now – now – now – Oh no, maybe this is really happening.

It’s not just him. What about U.S. senators, like Grassley?

It was really a revelation today to hear John Culver, former Senator from Iowa speak at the Kennedy memorial. Articulate, humorous, possessing a brain.

How on earth did Iowa go from Culver to Grassley?

Hell, how did the COUNTRY go there??? One thing I found so striking was the intelligence and decency of Democrats. Here were all these guys [and sorry, they were all GUYS] telling stories about their experiences with Kennedy and the issues they & Kennedy fought for. Democrats were just so likeable, the kind of people you’d want to serve in your Congress — not the washed out suck-ups currently corraled by Rahm.

Sad. Just sad.
