It just keeps on coming from Rep. Stark today–telling like it is, and giving the Blue Dog Democrats hell in the process. Here’s more from his interview with reporters today:

Moderate Blue Dog Democrats ”just want to cause trouble,” said Rep. Pete Stark, D-Calif., who heads the health subcommittee on the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee.

”They’re for the most part, I hate to say, brain dead, but they’re just looking to raise money from insurance companies and promote a right-wing agenda that is not really very useful in this whole process,” Stark told reporters on a conference call.

Yes, the Blue Dogs are promoting a right-wing agenda in making sure that we get RomneyCare without the benefit of a strong, robust public option in order to make health care affordable for millions of Americans.  That’s why so many of them are coming out and speaking about voting against H.R. 3200 unless changes are made to the bill, such as removing the public option or substituting it for co-ops, or paring back subsidies for the middle class and the low-income when Members of Congress return back after the August recess.

Rep. Stark knows the end game. It’s why he signed the letter with other 60 progressives to vote against any bill, including the conference report, that does not include a strong public option in it.  He’s currently at $4,335 on ActBlue as one of our healthcare heroes.
