Great list & great work!
Not seeing my Congresscritter, John Olver, anywhere on there, I just phoned his Holyoke (MA) office to check. Olver has long been a co-sponsor of H.R. 676. He is deeply & publicly committed to Medicare for All – single-payer, for a long time.
He will, for instance, vote for the Wiener amendment on H.R. 676.
Olver will also vote for the Kucinich amendment to change ERISA rules and allow states individually to constitute themselves as single-payer health insurance entities.
That’s very important for Massachusetts. We have a bill pending in the legislature right now to do this for Mass.
He won’t take the pledge, not knowing at present what might be in the final bill. But the staffer agreed that Olver does belong in the ‘Only With “Robust” ‘ column.
Thanks for everything you’re doing!
Since Trent Franks is way on the otherside of the issue I just sent in another $50 to FDL for the Good Fight. Go Team!!
Some of my friends have noted that Sestak did say he as in favor of a public option at a town hall meeting in Philly, but I pointed out that he was not yet on this list. And that I thought this list was more definitive.
Perhaps he’s among those referred to by Anthony Weiner as being prepared to vote against a bill without the public option, but unwilling/unable to be as direct?
I’d really like to understand his true position. Mostly, I’m just skeptical these days of what he says.
