The Energy and Commerce Committee is having their mark-up on health care reform at 10AM, after being delayed for days to wrangle compromises with the Blue Dog Democrats. Apparently the word is that now four of the seven Blue Dog Democrats on the committee will vote for the passage of the bill.

This is the liveblog thread for the mark-up at 10 a.m. Since the Energy and Commerce Committee website is down due to a heavy server load, we’ll have to use the C-SPAN online feed to follow the mark-up, and if it’s on TV, I’ll update the diary to reflect this.

Here’s the link to the C-SPAN online feed:

This is what we know so far about the concessions to Blue Dogs to get the bill out of the committee–cutting back subsidies to 300% of the FPL from 400% of the FPL, which covers less people in their districts, getting rid of the employer mandate to provide health care for employees, jettisoning the initial tie-in of rates to the Medicare system for the public option, and allowing providers to opt out of the public option. They also got the introduction of state-based cooperatives.
