We’ve added Chellie Pingree and Carolyn Maloney. We put up the statement from Pingree on Friday, want to make sure everyone saw the statement from Maloney as well:
I have always been a strong supporter of the public option (including co-sponsoring single-payer) and pledged to you several weeks ago to fight like heck to make sure a public option will be included in any health care reform bill. But, having watched the debate evolve over the last week or so, I want to make sure all of you know that I have decided I will not vote for a health care bill in the House that doesn’t include a real public option and I Pledge to uphold the public option principles agreed upon by the Progressive Caucus. I will continue to work with universal health advocates–and Caucus and Conference allies–to bring about true and practical universal health care legislation.
13 down….27 to go. Whip it!

About FDL Action
I have cut and pasted slinkerwink’s Action Items for this week in to a diary in case anyone is unclear on what we should be doing :D
what’s funny (and sad) is that even though Chaka Fattah is a memebr of the Progressive Caucus, he doesn’t even make the list of reps to lobby.
i’m not sure if that’s because you guys forgot, or if it’s because the guy is hopelessly useless and just riding the gravy train.
i suspect the latter: i can’t get a straight answer out of his staff for ANYTHING.
Why would Patrick Kennedy not be stepping up to the plate on health care? I can’t believe it. I’m stunned.
can we get the CBO to do a 10-year projection of health insurance industry revenue and profits, and also a 10-year projection of contributions to BLUE DOGS?
the distinguished gentleman is on the original Hot 100 list and can be found if you click on any of the “use our whip tool” links
thanks for calling him, I thought it was just me not being a consituent
When can we form a Progressive Party? I’ve had it with Blue Dogs and centerist Dems and ConservaDems as well as Harry Reid, Bacus, Dodd, and the rest of the criminals. We could really get something going.
You know, if the Democrats don’t do what we elected them to do, there isn’t one damn reason in the progressive blogosphere to even exist any more unless it takes a COMPLETELY different direction than working within the system.
just now on CNN: Steny Hoyer says “I think there will be a public option in the House bill….”’
He THINKS.
Eric Cantor is talking about tax loopholes as health-care reform and Hoyer can’t keep up with him. He’s awful.
yeah, when the new progressive party wins 10% of the vote and elects a Republican majority, we could DEFINITELY get something going, sure
