The latest word out of the Hill after the talks broke down so famously between Chairman Waxman and the Blue Dogs, is that the tentative agreements are back on, and that the mark-ups of H.R. 3200, the health care bill, will resume on Monday. When that happens, I’ll be posting a mark-up liveblogging diary right here on Campaign Silo for you all to participate in.

However, we’re not in the clear yet. As long as we have Democratic leaders like Rep. Hoyer hinting that the members of the House of Representatives might leave for their vacation before dealing with health care reform, we’ve got to keep up the pressure by telling Congress that they must deal with the passage of health care reform first before going on vacation. Here’s the quote from Rep. Hoyer below:

Even with Waxman’s hope for a Monday resurrection of the markup, Hoyer acknowledged that the House is unlikely to meet its deadline of passing a bill by Friday. He said the House session may extend to  Saturday or even the first two days of the next week.

And he held open the possibility that the House may break for its summer recess without passing a bill.

It’s why we have to keep up the pressure on Congress to pass health care reform first instead of going off on their vacation in August. We were able to sign up over 32,274 Americans in telling Congress not to go on their vacation before dealing with health care reform, and delivered that petition today to Rep. Clyburn, the Majority Whip of the House of Representatives.

We’re going to keep on fighting for the passage of health care reform with a strong, robust public option, the national insurance exchange, and subsidies for the middle class to afford health care. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for health care reform, and can you please help us raise $32,274 to continue this fight with more resources and get more people involved? Every single dollar helps in this fight in getting real health care reform.

Remember, the murder-by-spreadsheet industry and their lobbyists are spending over $1.4 million a day just to keep health care reform from happening because they’re scared of the public option. You know what? They WILL be afraid of the public option because we’re going to win.
