Crazy right-winger Michele Bachmann from Minnesota, in her floor speech, issued a litany of talking points against the public option, and said that the public option would be far cheaper than private insurance. And that’s a bad thing? Apparently it’s a bad thing for Michele Bachmann and her legion of crazy fans.
"Approximately 114 million Americans are expected to leave private health insurance. Why? Their employers will drop the insurance because the taxpayer-subsidized plan will be 30 to 40 percent cheaper. This action will collapse the private health insurance market, and then the Federal Government will own the health provider game."
The rate of those without insurance has increased 20% in Minnesota since 2007. Today, that’s now 550,000 without health insurance in Minnesota, which brings the percent to about 11% of the entire state’s population. Michele Bachmann doesn’t care about her uninsured constituents when she’s working to kill the passage of health care reform to protect her private insurers, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, which controls 50% of the state market, and Medica, which controls 26% of the state market.
Michele and other Republicans, including the Blue Dogs, don’t want the public option to be competitive against private insurers in order to bring down monthly premiums to make health care affordable for Americans. They’d rather have the status quo continue so they can keep on banking all the cash from Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealth, Aetna, and other insurers into their campaign coffers.
This is what the calls for "bipartisanship" and "more time" from these Republican and "centrists" are all about–to kill health care reform for the murder-by-spreadsheet industry.

But but but WAIT! The #1 GOP talking point sez that the public option will cost us MORE money! Michele, you’re giving the game away!
she’s just trying to scare people into calling against their best interests.
Cat out of bag.
Game over, Michele. Telling people their insurance is gonna be thirty to forty percent cheaper is not the GOP way to kill the public plan.
Oops, back to birther shit & census scamming.
My dad had an expression: A empty wagon rattles the most.
Perfect label. Me likee.
Says it all.
I thought the number one talking point was to be against the Obama administration? ha
What gives off this perception? Senator Jim DeMint vs. healthcare.
Beverage of choice?
Got a strawberry/banana smoothie hangin’ around? *g*
nice
Container of strawberry-banana yogurt, 1/2 c. strawberries, 1/2 c. crushed ice, toss in blender and push button!
(I like blueberry smoothies the best!)
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
US KIA Irak: 4327
US KIA Afghanistan: 747
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
I like fresh or frozen strawberries with a banana and maybe mango or peaches, fresh or frozen. Fresh I use ice, frozen no. Bottom line: fruit, blender, got it made in the shade.
I can hear that BB rattling around in that boxcar.
I can do ya a strawberry or peach or blueberry….bananas not available at the moment. :-)
Off to fight the weeds and apply some TLC to potted plants. Y’all have a good’un.

Lest it has escaped your attention, Michele Bachmann is batshit crazy.
Word on the street (cant remember if it’s official yet) is that Tarryl Clark, assistant majority leader in the MN senate, is planning to take on Bachmann in 2010. That is very good news indeed.
I’m fascinated why/how a district whose rep (Bachmann) makes an absolute fool of herself and, by extension, of them continues to vote for her. She is either the loosest of loose cannons or a GOP setup in a way that defies all logic and reason.
Understand the Census bureau was try ing to teach Ms Bachman about the census. Spending time trying to teach this woman something is like expecting a coffee filter to hold water.
Please contact your Senators (we have two now!!) to vote against the appalling proposed gun legislation coming up sometime today. Please!!
Since I went on South Beach I’ve been making those smoothies with fresh fruit and fat-free yogurt a couple of times a week. The blueberry ones are so yummy I almost lick the glass. Healthful, too.
Back on topic: I surely marvel at the batshit crazy Repubs. Birthers, Liz Cheney (Obama may not be American because he won’t defend our country), the C Street crew, and Bachmann. Not to mention Limbaugh, Dobbs, Cavuto, etc. etc.
Hilarious. Also, Rep Kline said government run program is cheaper & designed to save money.
Now I just know that local wingnuts would read this & be nodding their heads while loudly whining how terrible this is plus writing furious letters to the area newspapers.
My dad says the republican party wants to protect corporations from the people, and the democrats want to protect the people from corporations.
Into week two of SBDiet. Urgh. Borrrrring. I want FRUIT!!
Is Clark a republican?
Nope. Dem. Associate chair of the state Senate majority. Smart. Tough. Attractive (okay, that’s SO sexist, but in batshit crazy land, it apparently matters).
Obama won’t release names of health insurance execs visiting White House.
I wonder why?
And does your dad think that handing $15 trillion to the banksters with no accountability and no transparency is the way to go about doing that?
What your dad may not realize is that this Democratic Party isn’t the party of FDR, or of LBJ at all. They wouldn’t be trying to guarantee the health insurnance companies a market with a bait and switch operation if they were.
Let’s get this straight…Yes it will be cheaper to the individual, but that doesn’t mean it is going to be cheap, the tax payers are going to be subsidizing that to a huge degree. Whats going to happen at that point? Others are going to migrate toward the govt run system which will eventually lead to the collapse of smaller health care systems. This will take options away from us, not give us an additional one. Once this does happen, health care will sky rocket and there will be a loss of doctors as the government will begin to “control” payments. Doctors aren’t stupid and they did not go to Med School for 8-16 years to be told by some bureaucrat they will not be able to make the living they expected. As a challenge to many of you, go talk with your local MD about how many Medicare patients they take. In case you don’t know, every MD can only take a limited amount of Medicare patients (without secondary insurance) because they do not get re-reimbursed for the work they do. I bring this up because many of you praise how great Medicare is, when it was actually a economic failure at year 1.
I know a lot of you think the government has a unending supply of dollars laying around to fulfill our every desire and dream, but this money that we don’t have, but are spending is going to come back in a way that is disastrous. You think any recession we have faces in the last 25 years has been bad, just wait till the dollar begins to collapse under its own worthlessness. When that happen, ole Timmy will not be able to tell the Chinese anything to buy our debt.
What blows my mind is that Bachmann is admitting she thinks 30%-40% of our insurance premiums go toward profit. That’s a pretty high percentage for profits!

My dad had an expression too: When in doubt, throw it out. It applies double for Michele the Wing NUT.
I’m sorry but isn’t it time to STOP giving this lunatic and her fringe followers a platform to spew their stupidity from??
STOP COVERING THIS LUNATIC and spend a little time on things that matter. Like how much pollution our next breath will contain or desalinization of ocean-water or clean for land fills…
