Here’s what the supremely amoral Jim DeMint has to say about health care reform, as spoken to a group of well-funded industry astroturfers pretending to be "grass-roots" activists:
"If we’re able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him," he said.
There you have it, people. "Breaking" a Democratic president is much, much more important to Jim DeMint and his fellow Republicans than your lives, your health, your fortunes, and/or your sacred honor.
Are you going to take the morally demented DeMint’s actions lying down? Of course not — and here’s how to fight back against him and his lobbyist pals:
1. Whip the progressive Democrats (and any others you can find) into drawing a line in the sand on the public option: No public option, no deal. Period.
2. Write letters to the editors of the hometown papers of those Blue Dogs who are joining with Republicans to screw us all on health care reform. Nothing scares these folks more than LTTEs, because they reach hundreds of thousands of hometown voters. Let’s get ‘em good and scared!

Isn’t America used to this rhetoric by now? This statement is nothing compared to what COngressman Tiahart said.
It is morally irresponsible is stand up on the House floor and spew hyperbole implying that Obama’s mother may have had an abortion if they were free.
Rep. Tiahrt should be reprimanded for his comments.

Part of the ridulousness of his comment is his reference to women who are single parents suggesting that Obama’s mother was a single parent when he was born.
Tiahrt’s a jerk, but DeMint has more power. But yes, both gents are indicative of how the modern GOP operates.

Today I find DeMint’s remark especially offensive. Yesterday I learned that one of my daughters, who will be 50 in December, has a growth in her throat. Her insurance carrier (don’t know whether I should name it or not) paid for her to see a doctor who recommended a specialist and they paid for that visit. The specialist says he needs to do a biopsy and the insurance company REFUSES to pay. I am absolutely frantic this morning. She is pushing the company but they can just continue to say no.

My daughter had the same problem and it took over four months to get approval for the tests. They have the federal govt. plan but have since changed their carrier.
This shit is way beyond treason..after eight years of BUSH/CHANEY treason pretty sure it doesn’t count anymore.

This occurred in February and she waited awhile to tell me. It’s especially scary right now because I just had a cousin who was successfully operated on for tongue cancer – still on a feeding tube but doctors tell him they got all the cancer. He is recovering very well. I just want my daughter to be well.
Many times this outcome is just what the insurance vultures hope for. Does your daughter still have the lumps? If so she should go back but to a different specialist. If both specialists concur more ammo against insurance co.

I guess that means we won’t be getting DeMint’s vote on the Dem healthcare reform bill. I hope there are a few other Republicans who are a bit more sane, civil and considerate of their electorate.
