By “burdensome regulations” does he mean the ones that prevent recission (cancelling a policy after the insured gets sick), denial of coverage due to pre-existing conditions, limits on premium increases, limits on profits vs. payouts for covered services, limits on administrative efforts to deny coverage for valid claims, etc. THOSE regulations? We already take taxpayers dollars to help pay for the poor. But, it’s not the cheapest kind of care, so the reform bill will pay for more community health clinics, more doctors & nurses and subsidies to the poor to get regular insurance (instead of ER-care).

I wonder what the total ‘take’ is for corporations on the dole.

If we weren’t in a recession it would be time to look at eliminating a bunch of those. Maybe late next year we can look at some with an eye toward tax reform.
