No to everything that might “hurt” a corporation while American’s die and yes to everything which “”subsidizes corporations” while gutting the life and liberty of Americans in the process…. GO figure…..

Meanwhile politicians have taxpayer funded health insurance and spend taxpayer money in many ways while excepting “contributions” from powerful corporations then passing laws which protect corporations while depriving people of life, Liberty and property, under the perceived color of law?

What a racket we have here folks…………..

When we were up on the Hill yesterday we found out that they’d never had any uninsured Americans up to talk about their horror stories — just lots of health insurance lobbyists.

That is almost stupifying!!
Then again, how many uninsured Americans can afford to get to D.C. , pay for hotel, etc, etc, and know the turf well enough to navigate it, eh? (It’s galling that the lobbying control of information has such a complete stranglehold.)

I’m happy Mike’s on the FDL team on healthcare reform and so impressed with Jane’s effectiveness mobilizing public opinion and mobilizing congresscritter opinion. Yeah Jane. Yeah Mike.

A lot of us don’t have a lot of resources, but one thing we do have is stories! Tons of stories.

One of the things that frustrates me is that, other than OFA, there doesn’t seem to be enough organization for people to get together (in person) and show solidarity on this issue. I’m not ready to trust OFA or go knocking on doors for some amorphous healthcare reform, nor do I yet trust that this admin. won’t sell us out. Your citizen whip count project is one of the only places where I’m sure I’m putting my energy in the right place. I think there are people looking to get out and do things in the flesh but they’re not sure what group to follow for direction. Perhaps Howard Dean will lead on this and get some substantial numbers of people together so we can be heard.

Again, thanks for what you do. Health issues prevent me from committing to do something more for you, but I do think I’ve turned a corner and perhaps can offer more support and hours soon. Maybe we could get some of these stories on video, collect them in text or ask people to come to DC if they can. If they need more input from people, we have that!

Well, this cause calls for people who are bold and people who aren’t afraid of Big Health and their minions, and people who can effectively extract some accountability from lawmakers. Mike Stark definitely fits that job description. I imagine we will see some squirming and spinning extraordinaire as we get closer to a vote on healthcare reform. Our congressfolk should have nowhere to hide and it has to be clear to all where they stand.

The media is smelling the conflict and is very interested in this story more because of the turmoil, IMHO, than because of the importance of the issue itself. You know how they love a fight. I predict that Mike will get a lot of coverage from the media.

Hanging around in Congress’ backyard and getting them to answer direct questions is just what we need. Mike should train some of us and have a team of people who can come to DC now and then and help him get more video, cover some local events or hangouts, etc.

The vast majority of Americans who live in fear of our health care system haven’t been heard, which is why Blanche Lincoln and others can talk about guarding insurance industry profits and not know that they should be ashamed.
