As Jane already noted, the calls are working so we need to keep the pressure on.

Use Our Citizen Whip Count Tool
I’m going to purchase a second phone today. Going to call it my whipping phone! It’s absurd that there are so many on the fence here. What’’s wrong with Edwards, Cohen, Grayson, Wexler, Waxman, Miller on so on? These people shouldn’t require a whooping at all!
Some of our Represntatives are afraid that the R’s and R-Lite Blue Dogs will make fun of them and call them wimps for conceding to make a commitment to their constituents.
They are showing “backbone”. They want to impress who they perceive to be the cool kids like the closeted Lindsey Graham and the closeted Mitch McConnell.
And they fear they won’t get any cookies from their boss Rahm.
Marissa and Firedogs,
found myself on a WH website showing a scheduled Healthcare announcement from Biden, Baucus, and Sibelius about an hour ago – did anyone catch it ??
On NPR, Senator Bayh of Indiana said that his constituents are his boss. He’s not for a public option because his constituents don’t want it. He’s not going to vote just to appease the caucus. Neither is Mary Landrieu. She’s got her own mind.
I do hope we keep those ads going in LA for Mary’s sake.
I’m posting the link to “The Pledge” everywhere I go. Huffington won’t take my post (a repeat) unless I change a letter or two…so change it, I do!!
Maybe some others might do the same visiting sites:
“Pressure the Whitehouse by going to ‘firedoglake’ and telling your Congress member to take the PLEDGE!
http://action.firedoglake.com/page/s/publicoption
They need to Take the Pledge to vote against any health care bill that doesn’t have a public plan which is:
available nationwide
on day one
and accountable to Congress and the voters
If they haven’t taken the Pledge, CALL THEM!!”
PLASTER IT EVERYWHERE! We can do this-YES WE CAN!!
Where is Bayh getting his information, AEI or Heritage?
Tom Perriello was on Morning Joke today, even managed to impress them with facts and common sense.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv_nYd72TW0
A interesting part is that he said when asked would he vote against a bill without a public option he answered “maybe not.” This is coming from a guy in a 2 time Bush district, that narrowly went for McCain. And when he talked about how it depends on the public option it wasn’t a way to try to favor a trigger or co-op. It was talking about a strong public option.
He may not be able to pledge beacuse of his district. But it sounds like he’s one of the very good guys that’s forcing the Conservatives hand in the Senate.
never effing mind. was just more of the “we’ve negoiated with hospitals to lower costs” shiny shiny
Heard that on NPR this morning on the way to work. My response was BFD.
Isn’t that ridiculous? Funny thing about “negotiated costs”. They can and do change. They increase easier and faster than they remain static. And they almost never get lower.
