LOL – like the new “MIA” column.
Your grit and determination are an inspiration, Jane.
(fyi — Nadler also in Leaning Yes column)
Ah, our crack editing team had the day off.
ive been making calls etc.. many seem stumped when i mention choice.-incl wooley’s staff. i asked if members of the prog caucus back the right for any american to choose what they want even if their employer has chosen for them. i hope others press the issue. a pub opt alone aint enough. it must be open to all americans.
Jane, as I note in the preceding thread, all Nadler commits to voting against is any bill lacking “the public option.” He does not say that he’d vote against any bill lacking “the public option just described.”
Based just on the statement as provided, I’m concerned that the cheering on Nadler is premature. If Eve got a verbal commitment to the pledge or to voting against a bill lacking Nadler’s more robust criteria, great!
The text provided does not alone confirm that.

I just got off the phone with one of Markey’s staffers (Amrit something, I didn’t have a pen and am not good with names) and he said Markey strongly supports a public option, etc, etc. I then asked if he would vote against any legislation that did not have a public option. Amrit said that he didn’t want to commit to that without talking with Markey first, but he will be talking to him to find out. He also said, that he got a call from another constituent asking the same thing.
Good work Jane (et al.)! We are getting their attention. I’ll follow up again next week…
