Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) pledges to vote against any health care bill that does not have a robust public plan.
We’re still working to get members to define what they mean by a "public plan," because insurance industry shills like Kent Conrad are cooking up "faux" public plans. So we’re using the HCAN definition — 1) Available nationwide, 2) on day one and 3) accountable to Congress and the voters. When you call the offices of members of Congress, please be patient and try to explain this to the people you’re talking with. That in itself is a tremendous public service.
Thanks to Progressive Congress for getting us the video.

Call her and let her know you want her to get off the fence and definitively support a public option.

Jan,
I really think we should add one more area to what defines a ‘Robust Public Option’. We need to add – National Purchasing Power and Negotiating Power with Providers.
If this is added it will cover all the major areas that will create a Robust Public Option.
Thanks for all you do.
jane,
what’s happened to adding lloyd doggett to the list? he’s not there.
I couldn’t agree with you more! That is how other countries keep their costs low. That is why it costs 2-10 times more for our medications than other countries.
