Paul Martin from PeaceAction is up on the Hill today. He emails this:
House leadership definitely does not have the votes yet. It sounds like the leadership is going to use floor time tonight on various votes to do face-to-face whipping. If they have the votes, the house will bring the supplemental up as early as tomorrow.
This confirms what I’ve heard from other sources on the Hill — they would like to bring the bill up first thing tomorrow morning. If they don’t, we’ll know they don’t have the votes.
Keep calling, these Reps voted "no" the last time and now won’t say where they stand. They need to be reminded of their 2007 commitment not to vote for any war funding that doesn’t have a timetable for withdrawal:

Thanks Jane
Whip it good!
Hi Jane. Reps are much more interested in hearing from constituents than non-. Think it would help to tell folks it’s particularly important to call if they see one of theirs on the list?
Great News Jane! The Corporate Wing of the GOP wants this so why isn’t Rahm getting more cooperation from the GOP?
Why does he want our Lefties to stick their heads out on an unpopular bill that violates our ideas?
The Corporate GOP though loves this or are they to scared of the antibank Tea Baggers?
Andre Carson (D- IN7):
No update from aides today, but I did manage to get a number for his COS, and have left a message requesting a call-back.
Hey – it’s possible.
So Rahm or Machiavelli as you laughingly pattern yourself tell me if no GOPer votes for something they want much much more than we do
Then we get all the blame from our base and the GOP get to use this vote to hammer on us in the next election and
fuelfill their tea bags.Wiley E Coyote seems to have taught you strategy I take it not Machiavelli or Sun Tze.
Bill Foster (D-14), a blue dog Rahm recruit for the Hastert seat. Aide says he has not declared either way yet. He campaigned on timeline exit from Iraq, but then so did our president.
The Autocrat/ Elite orders threatens, blackmails but they do not persuade with logic to get a consensus.
They use fear and hate for lizard brains but none of the positive emotions we must try consciously to not be like them ever.
Wrong reason, method, end goal in the end it all leads to more wrong even if we succeed once or several times.
Rahm has not learned the lessons of the Bush Presidency mistakes are quite instructive.
Honda’s number is incorrectly listed. The correct number is 202-225-2631.
No one was in his office but I left a message. Honda has been progressive in the past…hopefully he will wake up.
last i called (earlier today) markey was still leaning “no” and tierney was “undecided”
Congrats, Jane. Thanks for inspiration and guidance!
