We’ve now had two people on the Whip Count tool tell us they contacted Jackie Speier’s office and were told she would vote "no" on the supplemental.
Cynthia A. reports she spoke to a staffer who said "Speier is voting ‘no’"
Jay C. reports he spoke to an intern who said: "The Congresswoman is opposed, but don’t quote me on that."
That makes 36 of the 39 votes we need.
Steve Cohen, Chakah Fattah, Mike Honda, Doris Matsui, Ed Markey, Jim McDermot, Gwen Moore, Jard Polis, Jan Schakowsky, Mike Thompson, John Tierney, Mel Watt and Anthony Weiner need to be reminded of the 2007 pledge they made never to vote for war funding that did not call for troop withdrawal.

Awesome!!
So proud of her. She’s a great woman.
That is great news. Keep it up Jane you are wonderful as always.
Any coverage coming of this talk of new regulations of the banking sector? In general new regulations are a good idea in my opinion but is the Federal Reserve the best place to put more power? It is an independent institution but it is run by bankers. My gut feeling is this is not a good place to put faith in new regulation.

I called Speier’s office a few hours ago and didn’t get that vibe, but happy to hear she is committed. When is the vote scheduled?
Jackie’s my congresswoman (and I’ve got the lawn sign to prove it). It’s great to have her as our rep in Tom Lantos’ seat because she’s always so right where our late congressman was so very wrong. Go, Jackie!
