From The Nation:
[T]he word is that the conference report on the war supplemental will reach the floor early next week.
That means that lobbying of members this weekend could be crucial.
As Kucinich says, "From what I can see, [members who so far have refused to bow to pressure from the administration and Pelosi] are concerned about going home and having to explain why they voted for the war when their constituents are opposed to it…"
Opponents of the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and of unsound economic strategies, should feed those concerns by telling their representatives to vote "No" to war and the IMF.
You can still take action on the weekend by writing letters to your local papers.

Why don’t we just ship in a live Iraqi and a live Afghani human being every 5 or 10 minutes… and let old Pelosi and the administration kill them on live television. I mean for 100 more billions… let us see what we are doing.
We will let the conservatives kill all the pregnant women.
They’re playing us like a fiddle…no different than how Big Business treats it’s contract employees. What BB will do is throw out the worst possible contract at these employees, the employees will think it’s the only contract they’ll be given, so they pull out what they don’t like (and BB knows they will!), and then when the worst contract on the planet has 2-3 things taken out, the employees sign on not realizing they still got the worst contract ever!
Americans are sick of funding atrocious wars that had nothing to do with 9/11. So what are they doing? They’re giving us a SUPPLEMENTAL that is so sucky and against everything Americans in the last election voted for, but what do we (”the employees”) do? We applaud that the Lieberman amendment was pulled out, but what we’re left with is A SUPPLEMENTAL BILL SUPPORTING A WAR WE NO LONGER RESPECT OR WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON!
It’s insane.
I was called a nut for supporting Dennis Kucinich, but as usual, it’s us nuts who aren’t the REAL nuts. The End.
