Since then he has shown a certain caution about opposing the war that makes me uncomfortable. He needs encouragement from ALL Maryland voters to firm up his anti-war positions. </p> <p>Sarbanes is likely to be responsive to voters ANYWHERE in Maryland (not just the 3rd Congressional District) because of his pedigree. His father was a US Senator from Md. for many years, and John is a young man who surely must be considering whether he might follow in his father’s footsteps one day.
