Ever since December, reports have been floating around about the FBI’s interest in both the Nasser Kazeminy case and in Norm Coleman’s ties to it. Now, those reports have been given a bit more substance:
The FBI is investigating allegations that former Senator Norm Coleman had clothing and other items purchased on his behalf by a longtime friend and businessman Nasser Kazeminy, according to a source in Minnesota who was interviewed recently by federal agents.
E.K. Watkins, a spokesman for the Minnesota FBI, would neither confirm nor deny the report. The source provided details of the interview to the Huffington Post, in addition to copies of business cards left by the agents.
The FBI has also been conducting interviews in Texas, where most of the principals involved in the Kazeminy case have their businesses, but this is the closest we’ve come to solid confirmation of the stories swirling around about the interviews that were taking place in Minnesota, and the involvement therein of Norm Coleman.
Hang on to your hats, folks. Things are about to get interesting.

What’s the likelihood this is some kind of behind-the-scenes maneuver to get coleman to “cease and desist” his never-ending quest……or else?
I see… Kazeminy didn’t buy the suits, MRS. Coleman, who received $75000 from Kazeminy, bought the suits. Makes perfect sense!
To be fair, we don’t know that Mrs. Coleman actually received the $75000, we only know her company did. No one has said how much of that was actually steered to Coleman or his wife.
BTW, does Coleman’s wife actually have an independant identity? Calling her Coleman’s wife is sorta like saying “Beaver’s mother” instead of June Cleaver. I mean, I think it’s important to stress the tie, but she IS a separate person, after all…
They aren’t interesting already? I’ve had 6 months of interesting.
Tho’ I think Norm is about to be living in “interesting times” like the fortune cookie says.
Though perhaps switching the traditional “in bed” for “in jail” might be appropriate for Norm’s pending fortunes.
Actually, this may have originally been slow-walked before Obama took over, but who knows? This is actually consistent with a typical FBI timeline for a case of this potential magnitude.
“Slow-walked” seems to be SOP for the feebs…..unless it’s a dem they’re trying to get rid of. Interesting, that. :-(
You have no idea how “separate” her identity is. Laurie and Norm have been estranged since before he got into the Senate, she’s been living in LA for a long time. She only shows up as a campaign prop during election season, although this last election she didn’t even do that. She was green-screened into a “home life” commercial with Norm. Frankly, I’m surprised Minnesota media let that obvious fakery go without comment during the campaign.
Mithras61,
Even if it is learned that all $75,000 were shifted to MRS. Coleman, there is no reason to limit the suspicions to that amount. Her employer could always add to it, and other donors could be using the same channels.
I knew that the Mrs. was out in CA, just didn’t know she was “Laurie.” Thanks! :)
Sounds like the commercials are more “empty suit” stuff from Normie.
True. I only meant that just because her comapny received the $75,000 that it all went to him. I suspect that particular conduit is more significant than Normie would have us believe.
So THIS is really why Normie was asking the FEC for permission to use his campaign accounts for his legal bills. Norm is going to be needing a whole hella lot of cash to pay for CRIMINAL DEFENSE lawyers. I think he’s just pumpin’ his donors about blocking Franken by going Federal. As soon as he loses the MN case he knows that the Supremes are going to turn down appeal.
He needs as much money as possible and appealing to the rabid Republican base and knuckle-draggers is the fastest way to raise it.
