While we wait to see if the Election Contest Court has issued any rulings yet — or if Harry Reid is going to go ahead and seat Al Franken tomorrow without a certificate and dare John Cornyn to filibuster — we have this little bit of trivia left over from the tear-gassed remnants of the Republican National Convention:
In a complaint filed in January 2009 [PDF, 3 Dog Consulting, Ltd., alleges that it was not paid roughly $760,000 for fundraising services it did for the Minneapolis/St. Paul 2008 Host Committee, the non-profit group tasked with overseeing the convention.
Ouch! But this makes it even better:
But there are some potentially far-reaching implications to the complaint. For starters, its executive director, Jeff Larson, is one of the GOP’s key behind-the-scenes players. Beyond being tasked with raising money for the convention, he is a conservative campaign guru, and, most infamously, provided a cheap-rental apartment for former Sen. Norm Coleman and bought the pricey clothes used by Sarah Palin during the ’08 campaign.
Moreover, while the host committee is legally a separate entity from the Republican National Committee, the clash over unpaid funds could persuade other major vendors to be more hesitant when working with the GOP and affiliated committees in the future. 3 Dog, after all, is not an obscure shop — the firm has done work for Norm Coleman, among others, including fundraising activities for his recount election.
And that brings us back to Norm. Heheheheh.

Typical long-term thinking on the part of the stupids.
Uh-huh.
holding breath, hoping the election court expedites before weekend
thanx for all this info pw
Your updates give some solace in the waiting, but is there any sense out there about when the ECC is going to make a ruling? Or some kind of statement about when it might make a ruling? This is driving me nuts!
Clearly, it’s driving the GOOP nuts too (see Cornyn), but it is doing damage to the State of Minnesota. All part of Norm’s evil plan, I guess.
2-3 more weeks!
Any idea what the bill from the Franken campaign to a losing Coleman camp might be and where the money for this would come from? Will the ECC require to put this up before any appeals could proceed?
I’m thinking it’s going to be a “Three Dog Night” for Norm. Some potential serenade music for his efforts:
Never Been to Spain
Eli’s Coming
Pieces of April
The Show Must Go On
Mama Told Me Not to Come
Sorry, had to do it.
Everybody thought they would have had a ruling out nearly two weeks ago. We’re on tenterhooks here, too.
BREAKING:
MinnPost is now reporting that 400, count ‘em 400 ballots will be opened and counted next week. If the universe of ballots is only 400, I believe that means that Stormin’ Norman needs over 65% to overtake Franken.
Or should I say, “Senator Franken”?
Here’s the pdf of the ruling
If 3-Dog Consulting did Normie’s fundraising, did they have anything to do with his web presence too?
Maybe they’re partially liable for insecurity of his website?
