IANAL, PW. I’m a statistician who has played with lawyers. Mrs. BC is a former paralegal and now a scholar of legal rhetoric (in the traditional Aristotelian sense of that abused word.)

If Ginsberg really thought he could pull that crap in a place like Minnesota, he’s a bigger idiot than I thought he was. I didn’t think that was possible, but apparently it is.

Thing is, I’m guessing that Ginsberg, who saw attorneys on his side get away with shutting down a Florida courtroom in the 2000 “Brooks Brothers Riot”, seriously thought he could pull similar crap in Minnesota and keep his pro hac vice status.

while the repuglitards can’t produce a single illegal vote cast by any ACORN related voter, we got norm coleman advocating for HOW MANY ILLEGAL VOTERS ???

For the nonlawyers among us. A motion pro hac vice is a request to the court to admit an attorney who does not belong to the bar in the court’s jurisdiction to practice (often as the attorney of record) in the case in question. Ginsberg isn’t a member of the Minnesota bar, so Normie’s lawyers filed a motion on his behalf asking that he be allowed to serve as (one of) Normie’s attorneys in this trial.

These things happen all the time in interstate divorce/custody cases. But Ginsberg ought to be conducting himself as an attorney rather than as a PR flack. Hence, rather than face court sanctions for having proven himself to be a jerk, they are withdrawing the motion. Since he’s not an attorney in the case now, he’s free to be as big a horse’s ass as he wants to be.
