Whatever snacks David Gregory left behind in the NBC White House correspondent’s cubicle, Chuck Todd seems to be scarfing them down them along with the Kool Aid newly appointed WashingtonPost.com White House correspondent Chris Cillizza brings to work in his Debbie Howell lunchbox.
This question is ridiculous and belies a fundamental misunderestimation of the legislative process, no?
Asking Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about President Obama’ intentions with regard to a stimulus bill reaching his desk without bipartisan passage:
"Would [the President] veto a bill if it didn’t have Republican support?"
Proving once again that manipulating a fancy touch-screen and adding up spring delegate counts is a completely different skill set than covering the White House.

Isn’t his wife a worker for Republicans or Republican causes? Maybe even for John McCain? fact checker please help out here….
I can’t find any evidence of that, although I did learn that he attended George Washington University on a French horn scholarship. But I’m not sure he graduated.
I’ve never been that impressed with Chuck Todd. He’s less of a moron than the TV mannequins around him, but he’s still not much above the Tom Brokaw or Maureen Dowd level of intelligent discourse.
I think TV makes those inside the box completely stupid. Even Rachel Maddow comes across less smart on the teevee.
Todd, Chuck has been lame from the day he showed up outta the blue as “Political Director” for NBC. It was like, “Who the f–k is this clown?!? And why would he have such a high-powered position?!?” Shades of Russert, who ascended out of nowhere without any real resume in the field.
Before Chucky started getting some praise (which baffled me at the time) for his polling analysis, I was calling him out a lot as the Repub talking point repeater that he was. We’re not gonna change BigMedia to any meaningful degree. We must REPLACE it entirely.
I met Chuck Todd at Yearly Kos at O7 when I got to meet you, Teddy. He was not too excited that I thought KO was the guy!
Dugg. Thanks Teddy.
He was a Villager-wannabe even then. When he writes about how badly NBC was hurt by the death of Pumpkinhead this year, you can tell there is no self-awareness, that perhaps the network is better off having shed the Russert rep. No, he’s like Cillizza, always lusting to be like Russert and Broder, the next generation very like the last.
People put into positions for which they are patently unqualified are much more easily manipulated. See Goodling and Schlozman, among other BushCo examples. Perhaps Russert learned this “seedling incompetents” method from Darth?
H]ere’s Town Crier Chuck Todd reassuring us all that these new executive orders won’t allow the terrorists to kill us all in our beds:
Todd: There are still some loopholes. Those who are worried that somehow there isn’t going to be a way to get intelligence out of them [. . .] Now the administration says this does not mean they will invite new methods of interrogation back into the fold, but like I said Andrea, you could go through here with a fine tooth comb and could find plenty of loopholes that would allow certain things to happen.
already pretty stupid
I liked Chuck Todd until he lost his mind.
The good thing about watching Chuck Todd and Tom Brokaw and the main NBC bunch MTP et al is you’ll know what The Bilderberg Group has planned next for America…
Todd’s wife worked for Jim Webb Kristin Denny Todd
is a media consultant for Democratic candidates.
Todd is still a maroon
He is an adjunct professor at John Hopkins

“….along with the Kool Aid newly appointed WashingtonPost.com White House correspondent Chris Cillizza brings to work in his Debbie Howell lunchbox.”
Ya got Cillizza right. A prodigy of Miss Debbie’s Academy of Clueless Smuggery.
NBC News political director Chuck Todd and NBC’s elections director Sheldon Gawiser will co-write, “How Obama Won,” according to Leon Neyfakh of The New York Observer.
The book, published by Knopf’s Vintage imprint, is being rushed for publication before January’s inauguration.
According to Neyfakh, the deal was finalized, “about two weeks before the election,” but there’s no word when work first started.
The book’s editor, Errol McDonald, says if it was Sen. John McCain who emerged victorious, “It’d probably be called ‘How Barack Obama Lost.’”
Chuck Todd is married to Kristian Denny Todd.

Beat me to it but only because I was cleaning up the html version of the text. *g*
Chuck Todd’s wiki.
Teddy, this is one hilarious post. (I dugg it)
Maybe Todd should go back and study the french horn, because that question, I read it three times, and I still can’t figure out what it means. (But, then I’m blond.)
This is a doubly stupid question since if there were no Republican support for a bill it would, as things currently stand, be successfully filibustered in the Senate. So it wouldn’t pass and there would be no opportunity for a veto. It’s a math thing. Chuck’s problem was just that he ran out of fingers and toes before he could solve it.
Ooops, sorry eCAHN, didn’t realize you were here or I might have skipped the blond comment. *g*
And, yes, folks, it’s an inside joke.
Not a problem. One learns to endure. *g*
I liked Todd when he was still at hotline but when he became a tv personality and starting having his eyebrows done (think Samson) somthing happened to his brain
Stupider? How can you tell? Chuck Todd has always been stupid. It is his duty to not give us information. But his teevee audience is also stupid.
Plus he must help Howie Kurtz defend our Rethuglican overlords. Howie (and the other tee vee anchors) thinks he is a STAR!
Gad, Todd is only 36. I could never trust anyone under 40.:-)
Right. And then there’s that strange combo:
Seems like Hopkins has rather low academic standards. Adj prof someone who doesn’t have a BA.
Who was it who wanted to know what’s at the farmer’s market in January in the northeast? Answer is root vegies, some herbs & salad greens, apples, some pears, then homemade stuff like bakery products, and cheeses. Also eggs, and poulty. I bought a pheasant. Never cooked one but there’s a first time for everything.
LOL. teddy, especially from you, that is priceless.
Evidently they were willing to settle for BS. Seems like they’ve taken a page out of Walmart’s playbook. Limit your staff to part-timers to keep your overhead down. From Wiki.
They are really good smoked
Gibbs should of answered…… “F*ck Republicans….. any stimulus bill is better than none AND if it isn’t enough then we submit another one”
I read that hours after you commented and wanted to tell you that I’ve gotten purple potatoes at Trader Joes.
demi – i was hoping to find you to let you know i left you a couple of comments with links re whitehouse and telco immunity.
Do you use a pipe or rolling paper?
Well, this one’s fresh. I asked how to prepare it and the seller told me to put an onion & apple in the cavity and a couple of strips of bacon over the top, as pheasants are lean. The same vendor had lots of good looking birds, and sausages, but being single, I have to be careful not to buy too much. That’s the hardest part of shopping at the farmers’ market.
Thanks. I looked for that diary a bit ago, but didn’t see it. I’ll go look again.
I don’t know if there are any Trader Joes near me. Will check. Thanks for the tip. I bought 2 kinds of purple potatoes: one called Peruvian, $3/pound, and another crossbreed whose name I can’t remember for $1/pound. Both are supposed to stay purple when cooked. I hope they’re still available in the summer, as I think they’d be a cool addition to potato salad.
LOL. ratfood must use rolling paper, like perhaps from those big brown rolls they use in construction. I have a hard time imagining a pipe big enough to stuff a pheasant into.
Sorry ratfood; meant foothillsmike.
at my trader joes they come in a mixed bag with red and yukon gold – i think anyway, they’re only labeled “confetti potatoes.” and yes, i know this only because i just checked the ones i got a couple of days ago.
I buy the mixed bag of potatoes, the white, red and purple and then roast them in the oven. Cut them into half or quarters, put them in a baking dish and sprinkle olive oil over them, spice such as herb de provenance, mix them up and then roast them 400 degrees 30-45 minutes….. I also roasted them at a lower temp with roasting cornish hens and other meat. You can do the same to asparagus and roast them at the same time.
I can’t believe that Todd is as stupid as that question sounds. But what else could explain it? A lame attempt at sarcasm? A simple brain fart? I don’t have a realistic hypothesis, but I find it hard to imagine that he is that stupid.
Yep. That’s the way I got mine. Nummy, right?
And, I must be deaf, dumb and blond, because I cannot find that diary.
RBG or Mod around?
I’ve done them slowly in a frying pan with olive oil. At the end add minced garlic & rosemary. Your suggestions sound good too.
No problem. I wonder if it’s better to smoke pheasant before or after salmon?
I well understand the thing about not buying to much. Last night I finished the eggplant parmesan from last Sunday.
Pheasant can be dry and smoking is an outside thing if that is what you do make sure there is a water pan full throughout the process and bacon is good.
BT’s up
Is Texas About to Execute an Innocent Man?
When my strength was not good, it was a way for me to put together a really nice meal with little work. Pheasant is wonderful, I would check to see what you can find on the foodnetwork and I am going to dig for my wild game cookbook …..
I’m certain some people smoke them via the beer-can chicken method, which would help keep it moist.
katymine! that’s almost exactly what i usually do – only i cut them a bit smaller because i like the browned crispy bits. also add other root-type veggies (leeks for example) and some times garlic and green beens for the last part… just depending on what’s available and my mood.
I noticed him at the briefing the other day. He was in the front row two or three seats from Helen Thomas. He had a terrified look on his face.
Or before or after sex.
There is a horse breeding farm for trotters & pacers near me. It’s gorgeous. You used to be able to wander all over, into the stalls where the mares give birth & the stud barn. We used to take weekend guests to see it. One wag, upon viewing the stallions’ stalls said: Is this where they come to smoke a cigarette afterwards?
i linked to it @35 – well actually to my comments, but close enough.
stuff calls… later pups.
those of us of the rugged outdoorshunter persuasion who are heartily glad to see the back of the canned hunting weenie who pretends to be a hunter approve this recipe [apple and onion inside–orange wedges good, too–with bacon on top…. and drizzle orange juice over]
They just hired Henry Paulson if that is any clue.
Thanks. Will add your orange suggestion. Tomorrow night’s the night.
Well now, at least Hopkins is consistent in being wingnut welfare. Do they get large contributions from Richard Mellon Scaife?
For their economics dept or their criminology dept?
Todd’s question assumes that bipartisanship is the ONLY plank in Obama’s platform … or he wishes it were so.
teh stupid.
Thanks again. Okay, yes, I remember those posts. Why I remember being so disillusioned about his vote.
That is one of my recipes and another with the bacon but stuff the cavity with herbs & bay leaves. Adding olive oil over the bird and roast for 1.5 hours….350 degrees….. from all the recipes it seems that pheasants must not have a lot of fat like duck as they all add something to moisten the bird.
Hopkins has some international school of whatever that Wolfowitz used to run before he went to the Pentagon and led us into Iraq. So the wingnut welfare program has been going on for a while.
dang that was for eCAHNomics

Is that where he wore the holes in his socks?
Got it. Thanks.
Blue America up at the Mothership with guest Sam Bennett.
Yes, Todd’s wife did work for the GOP side during the election. Todd is a numbers cruncher, but not too good as an objective analyst. Every now and then on MTP he let his Conservative shine through. However, he is still better than Gregory.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin
Give him a break, he’ll get there. At
least he is not one of the bloviating
media pack.
Why do the MSM idiots think the dems should care whether or not the republics have a say in anything. Who do they really think is at fault for the state of the nation? Someone should lock them up, all of them and throw away the key. These idiots should NEVER be allowed in power again.
At least NBC is consistent. David Gregory was useless as a White House correspondent. Todd is following that example.
How long must America suffer these fools in the corporate media? It would seem that America will only move forward when Republicans and corporate media shills are dead and in their graves.
In the clip, did I just hear Chuck Todd just ask Robert Gibbs
