Excellent! Breaking up the cycle of good-ol’-boy spooks at Langley, is God’s work. The CIA (Motto: “Proudly Overthrowing Fidel Castro for five decades!” h/t to Dave Barry. :o) ) needs someone to break up the right-wing koolaid factory and return it to it’s original purpose of gathering intelligence about external threats to us.

Bush, Cheney and their enablers counted on history to cover expediency.
History is not cooperating.
Not every participant will receive their just deserts, but no one will walk away covered with glory, and some, such as Feinstein and Rockefeller may rightly fear that their legacy will be their most shamefull moments rather than their proudest.

Well, I’m just SOOOO confused. Harry Reid is barring the door on Joe Biden once he becomes Veep so the executive branch can’t exercise influence on the Senate. The Senate want to maintain itself as half of an independent branch of government but now it also wants the executive to run everything by it first???

The Senate is supposed to give “advice & consent” IN THE SUNSHINE, Princess Dianne, not rule on nominations or even get royal heads-ups behind closed doors.

One Clintonista supposedly said the U.S. didn’t have a horse in the East Timor race. After the slaughter started getting some coverage in the Australian press, Clinton issued a mild public statement of disapproval and Indonesia backed off.

I’ve been thinking of that a lot in light of Obama’s reluctance to say anything on behalf of the civilian casualties in Gaza.
