I have lingering concerns that he might not be able to mute all his latent snarkabilities, and I simply don’t care.

He’s a smart, well educated guy. Besides, I read his book on that overgrown frolicker rush. That alone puts him light-years beyond Coleman, and even a tad more prompt and accurate at truthiness than any MSM forces I can think of.

Yup. They’re trying to make it look like it’s Florida 2000, but the simple fact is that the recount is actually par for the course as recounts go.

It won’t have officially wound up for another few weeks, but it’s set on a course that guarantees a full and fair counting of all ballots. Norm, after all the screeching about how “Coleman’s going to slow this thing down with bogus lawsuits”, doesn’t dare file any himself. Not if he’s smart.

And yes, there is a chance that the rising tide of scandal around Norm Coleman may render a ballot box victory moot — but then again, if Norm is hauled off to jail after 01/20/09 while still a sitting senator, our Republican governor, Smilin’ Tim Pawlenty, gets to appoint his replacement.

I’ve been monitoring this issue on the internet and this is the first thread I’ve seen that isn’t dominated by completely uninformed Republican “stolen election” crazies.

All told, the recount has gone as well as it possibly could have. Even the Minnesota Repulicans haven’t been terribly stinky.

So far.

I call it 50-50 now, but that’s just a guess. Franken isn’t home free, though.

This is why it was so important for the GOP to hold onto Saxby’s seat. The Party bosses knew 1) Franken would win the recount and, 2) Coleman would probably be indicted.
