In August, when Maria Bartiromo wanted to move her interview with Sarah Palin about oil, energy and drilling from the governor’s office to outdoors into the oil fields, Sarah who was wearing her own suit and heels, needed some outdoors duds, so a staffer was dispatched to buy a jacket and hiking shoes for the location shoot, though appears from photos that Bartiromo had an appropriate outfit with her.
Palin reported the $300 worth of clothes as a gift on her disclosure form.
Another nifty fact obtained under the Freedom of Information Act: Each attendee at the Republican governors’ meeting last spring received a pair of $1000 custom cowboy boots.

Talk about a failed Governor of a small state.
frickin’ cowboy boots? I thought clearing brush would be passe now. How about some track shoes so they can keep up with the times?
When is Palin going to get off welfare?
Gifts? WTF More of the people’s money gone to wast for these anti-progress people. Boy they sure know how to take the tax payers to the cleaners for their own benefit!
Digg is now open Pups!!
enough palin
Those cowboys boots are a legitimate business expense. Republican Governors go through a lot of footwear stomping on their constituents.
Wait. Now I IS confused. She hunts, guts and drains moose in the field, flies in and over to pop the wolves good ‘n plenty, and has no field boots?
Is that the implication? I wish I could pull that one. Heels in the tundra. At least they’re spiked. Or did I miss somethin’ agin?!
As the constituent of a Republican Governor of a small state [North Dakota], all I can presume is we are getting the best governors money can buy?
enoughtoo much palinbut, but… do they not have a laundramat in Wasilla? Is her whole wardrobe made of disposable paper napkins?
*wags head*
OT Breaking: The Paris Court of Appeals today ruled that a voodoo doll of Nicolas Sarkozy (complete with pins) defames the French President. It said the product, however, could continue to be sold as long as a sticker was attached informing the potential buyer of the court’s decision.

I’m thinking this can only boost sales. Sarkozy = idiot.
Re Cowboy Boots: Years ago when I worked with the US Department of Agriculture we had the meeting of the state Secretaries/ Commissioners of Agriculture in New Orleans. The then Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture had all of the food “donated” by local companies. He had the employees of the LA Department of Agriculture serve as casino staff for the mock casino at the event, complete with cocktail waitress like attire for the women. (These were his employees!) He even had a brand new pair of cowboy boots “donated” for each and every commissioner of agriculture in attendance. Rick Perry, now governor of Texas was among the then Commissioners of Agriculture benefitting from these “donations”.
A new pair of boots for every Governor? Well honey, that is just an advertising and marketing expense.
It seems like Wal-Mart workers not only cannot afford to shop there, but it’s also a life-threatening job.

Sarah Palin is the Amelia Marcos of the GOP. It looks like she has left her favorite consignment shop far behind.
Even Doonsebury puts the boots to Sarah.
Two dead here in a Toys ‘R Us in Palm Desert, California, an altercation between two teenage girls. I think online shopping is the way to go this year.

Do you think the stores ask for this…with the huge hype and advertizing, comeons, etc? I cannot think of an article that would get me to a mall on this particular morning.
And wading through their own s**t
All republicans need cowboy boots because they’re constantly kicking their own shit around.
This crowd problem happens every year, you think it would be to a large store’s benefit to hire security with crowd control experience. The interruption in business for these incidents and loss of sales as a result must be far more than the cost of the extra security.
Yes, I definitely think the stores bring this on themselves with the hype, inciting the riotous behavior by the customers. Offering these sales and huge deals to lure shopaholics into their stores is like offering free drugs to heroine addicts. I would not go out in the traffic and these crowds if the merchandise was offered for free.
Rachel calls it “ethical freakshow of a universe”.
Obscene where money is going. “Greed” has been good to the greedy for sure. Cronyism escalated greed.
Palin is so obviously amoral she doesn’t even try to hide it. Zero tolerance Christian rightism? Zero tolerance for what?
$1000 boots. That was undoubtedly looked on as not a serious expense.
Millions in corporate bonuses for already fat cats. Incredible. There seems no conscience.
Our Congress has sold out to the lobbyists. Where are the boundaries re $. They can’t seem to see them.
Jonathan Turley says politicians campaign on principles and govern on politics. He also says that the Dem party needs the intestinal fortitude to take a stand on torture. Want to shove it off onto a committee and never prosecute. John Woo and Bushco can probably relax.
JRE’s haircut! The man who worked for the recognition of two Americas. He gets called on it by the corporate media.
We need to put morality back on the country’s agenda. How low can we go?
Palin needs to put on those boots and keep on walking. No body even takes her seriously why do networks insist on shoving her down our throats?
Back around 1999 I bought a really nice Stetson 5X beaver or some such — anyway, I liked it. A few months later the same hats were seen on the heads of every person who contributed X++ $$ dollars to Bush’s campaign, and, well, you understand: I couldn’t be caught dead wearing a Repub signature item. Poor hat. It’s had a hard life in the closet. Literally.
Because they know that she will be our next President in 2012 as she kicks obamas but right out on the streets right where he and that women of a wife he has belongs…………..
Looks like we need the mod again.

Just because you asked, reginasmastiffs – Suzanne, your moderator and gracious host, is a life-long Republican, as are many people at this “sight.”
Civility first and always, and you will be welcomed, regardless of affiliation or perspective, I have found.
works for me have a good night.
I find it curious that a major news organization arranges an interview with Mooselini and then doesn’t tell her that they are going to take a hike in the mud so she can bring something to change into?
And again – a pair of jeans, some mud boots, and what looks like a hoodie for $300? Where do these people shop?
