hourglass.thumbnail.jpgNothing much happening today — everyone’s waiting for the remaining counties to start counting, which they will tomorrow. As it is, there are so many challenged ballots that have been set aside for review that even when the initial recount is done, nothing will be settled until the challenged ballots are examined, which won’t be until this coming Wednesday.  Nate Silver’s done an analysis of the precinct returns, and now predicts that, when the dust settles, Franken will win by a margin of twenty-seven (27) votes.  If true, that will be even closer than Christine Gregoire’s winning margin in the 2004 Washington state governor’s race.

While we wait for the Minnesota Senate recount to resume, here’s a little factoid from the Georgia Senate race runoff:

Over 12,000 RNC-generated runoff absentee ballots in Cobb and DeKalb Counties in Georgia were rejected because they weren’t signed.  Hey, aren’t Republicans supposed to be superior beings who never ever mess up their ballots?  Or was this a failed effort to do some ballot-box stuffing?
