My Uncle worked for The Guggenheim Institute during WWII. Located at that not so secret hangar in Akron, Ohio-so large it rains inside, it has its own atmosphere, no joke. It was located at the old Goodyear Plant, same place as the Blimps-Airships my Uncle insists we call them. They brag a lot to get money and publish it-dumb. Remember follow the money rule #2? Grant money, has to be declared and accounted for, publicly.

Joe ‘ain’t’ goin’ nowhere, not unless this aspect is related to the reason for his tenure. Notice who is not saying a peep, notice who is speaking out. Fearmongering of what will happen to our country if our defense is weakened is a fine way to ensure that these contracts and grants will continue to flow to his state and the trickle-down states that get billions from their being in operation.

I’m sure these corporations will do just fine without their junkyard dog guarding them.

If not, maybe they can be eligible for bailout money.

But I can do one thing — I’ll withhold my planned $100 contribution to Jim Martin’s runoff campaign against the odious GOP Saxby Chambliss in Georgia.

If the Senate Democrats reward Lieberman’s disloyalty by giving him the HSGO gavel, they have no interest in getting to 60. Because they’ll never get 60 votes if Democrats can betray their party, their party’s president, and their Senate colleagues without consequence.

No gavel? Then I’ll donate $100 to Martin. It’s that simple for me.

IMHO,the debate over how to deal with Lieberman is being played out on the wrong turf. His disloyalty to the Democratic Party is an issue, but the bigger one is that he is an imcompetent schmuck who shouldn’t be given any serious responsibilities in the Senate. This is a guy who thought that McCain/Palin was the superior choice to lead the nation. Lieberman was willing to trust Sarah Palin with our arsenal of 5,500 nuclear weapons. Anybody whose judgement is that far off the mark should be out of consideration for any sort of leadership role. Sheesh…

I’m visualizing a little early.

Lieberman … I sent a ‘don’t you dare let him keep the gavel’ message to my Senator (Bingaman).

Got an email back this morning that consisted of a subject line (Response to your comment) and one line in the message: “Letter goes here.”

Some idiot sent me the form for Bingaman’s office’s response.

So I hit reply and said, “I don’t think that ‘Letter goes here’ is much of a response.”

Then I reiterated my opposition to Lieberman, laying out the basics. He campaigned against Obama, raised money and campaigned for Republican Senate candidates in close races. Told them that Lieberman can’t be trusted with the hearings necessary out of that committee.

We’ll see what I get back next.

This surprised me, too. I thought all during the last session, they were saying this could NOT be done. IIRC, when the New Congress “organizes,” part of that deal is who the chairmen are. To remove Lieberman, once appointed, would take another organizing resolution.

I think I also heard this to explain why Pelosi could not be removed as Speaker until the end of the session.
