Actor Edward Norton is producing a documentary chronicling president elect’s Barack Obama’s history in politics. And HBO has paid seven figures for the U. S. rights. Says Norton who starred in Constitutional rights biopic The People vs Larry Flynt:
Senator Obama’s history-making race for the White House has given our film a perfect framework to explore the pulse of the country at this vital moment in our history. We believe this film will capture a tipping point in American history when a new generation of leadership emerged and old prejudices were finally vaulted over.
In early 2006, Norton’s Class 5 Films approached the Obama campaign about a documentary, and directors Amy Rice and Alicia Sams were granted extensive access to film Obama before he launched his presidential run in 2007. They continued their shoot through his historic victory this week.
No word when the doc will air.
