Protests which began this afternoon continue through the night in Westwood and West Hollywood, calling on the IRS to revoke the tax exempt status of churches which supported the same-sex marriage ban.

Lorri Jean, director of the Gay and Lesbian Center was on hand, as was Rabbi Denise Eger. Actress Patricia Arquette was spotted but disappeared into the huge crowd before we could interview her. The protesters included families, gays, straights, all races and colors united for equal rights. One woman was assaulted by a Yes on  8 supporter. 

The protest has lasted over nine hours, and demonstrators pledge to keep up the vigil.

Legal challenges to ban on same-sex marriages have begun as well.
